I only hunt morels but are these dangerous to my mares? i was gone with my horses for 10 days. Weather was mild with rain while gone. Came home and horse pasture over run with these mushrooms.
H abitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc. Horse pasture in manure piles
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. Spores are dark purplish
Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc. Hollow, 1/4 to 3/8 inch
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. Sunburst with purple edge
Spore print color: didn't print but black or purple Very important!
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any. Unknown
Other information: unknown Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

I'd be scared around a horse who just ate a few of those. I don't know for sure if it would even effect them but I wouldn't chance it. I'd just take them for myself before I let the horse get em! Hehe

They probably aren't dangerous to your horses, they are psychoactive AKA magic mushrooms. I've never heard of farm animals eating them, or really anything out of their own shit. What state are you located in?
