casing problems
    #23825671 - 11/12/16 11:34 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I cased 2 weeks ago, the mycelium was starting to grow in nicely then started to just die off and wither away. I got some good advice on here and made some adjustments. It seems that it wasn't getting good enough air exchange. So after 4-5 days now I can just start to see some new mycelium coming through the casing soil. It seems slow. Should I just leave it and let it continue to grow? Should I re case? No mould has come through, lots of moisture, if I re case how do I do it? I've read about "scraping" the casing soil. What's the simplest way to do it?

let things run their natural course. The more you disturb the project the worse off you will be in the long run. sometimes these things just work themselves out. I have found that when I try to manipulate the situation with these things I more often than not will end up on the losing end.

Scraping a casing layer is about as useful as putting your dick in a meat grinder.  Just no.  Why would you re-case?  If the first one didn't work out for you, pretty sure a second one won't be any better, ya know.  "re-casing" should never be a thing.  Your grow could be perfectly fine.  The God of Fuck is speaking words of wisdom.  Leave it.  Good on you for increasing FAE.  Treat your grow like the science project that it is instead of one of your children, and your grows will be successful.  I've seen growers take a project(shrooms or otherwise), and run it into the ground by mothering it to death(literally).
