Been playing a bit if league of legends. All though the ranked system is garbage right now. Tried out apex legends. I'm terrible at shooters on pc though i'd probably be better on console.

I’m pretty jelly you have the 200 quest points to do Dragon Slayer II, I’m like 100 away from Barrow Gloves and feel like it will take a lifetime. I have all the time in the world for AFK tasks burn I got to find time to quest wherever I can. But I finally did Lunar Deplomacy a while back.

How far away from Quest Cape are you?

I dunno a ways. I just took like a week to do quests while getting barrows gloves.

Most of them are a lot easier and not nearly as long as the wiki makes them seem. Lunar diplomacy is a really short quest.

Damn I forgot all about that game! That game is dope as fuck. I loved KoA. It's such a long ass game too. The combat is solid.

talk of THQ Nordic possibly doing a remaster or sequel after having acquired the IP for unclear reasons got me to revisit it
graphically it has aged pretty well, and as you said the mechanical combat is still solid
my only real dislike is that default FOV is really narrow and takes getting used to before it stops causing motion sickness
but since the game was designed around that, modding a wider field of view in serves to make combat animations feel a bit less weighty and spectacular

my indecisiveness also has me trying to decide between two character builds; one a warhammer wielding Paladin and the other a sneaky mage assassin
but do like that the game still facilitates some variety to play

Didn't they go bankrupt or something? I forgot the reason why they stopped developing past KoA. I remember absolutely loving that game though, I did 2 full playthroughs because I enjoyed it so much, I think each playthrough is like 50+ hours too

I'd be happy as fuck if they did a sequel to it or even a remake considering I don't even remember the plot of the game anymore lol

Yeah the original studio behind it went bankrupt,
then September last year THQ Nordic bought the rights for the IP itself
but it was done under EA, so they apparently have to get a go ahead from there for a remake

EA was also stupid last night; was going back and forth between KoA on Steam and Dragon Age on Origin, both requiring logins
then woke up this morning to having to reset my password due to them deeming that to be 'unusual activity'
-_-

it is kind of a nice middle ground right now; combat is active and fairly mobile
but it is not as punishing as Dark Souls
and a bit more high fantasy with fancyness of skills
do really like that it is easy to weave between magic and physical combat

playing with a controller to be lazy :cookiemonster:

may end up compromising and just pursuing different questlines across the two characters,
since it gets pretty easy to level 'past' areas

Yeah I thought that they went bankrupt, I was so confused considering how awesome the game it was but I remember reading their budget was really high. I hate EA but hopefully they can revive this game!

Dragon age origins is easily one of my favorite games.

You are right though, the gameplay reminds me a "light" version of Dark Souls (which is 100% my favorite franchise)

Dark Souls did a lot of things that really defined combat well
and it has been interesting to see some of those principles seem to inform other games (like the Witcher 3)

the one 'up' KoA has over Souls is that it feels really fluid to weave spells into the middle of weapon combos
Dark Souls 3 did a solid job of incorporating the weapon arts that make combat more interesting
but it is still not incredibly viable to go from multiple slashes directly into casting a Pyromancy, for instance

tho it will be interesting to potentially get my hands on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
and see how From Software has refined their combat systems to incorporate the prosthetic skills and stuff
video previews seem to suggest a bit faster pace with more flash and flair going on
never played Bloodborne, so not clear on how the speed of gameplay may stack up

Reckoning was really fun, lots of pretty colors.  Combat was well paced but I remember it being a little too easy at times.

My PS3 died, otherwise I would play it right now.  Never crafted anything but I had my chest pretty much full of the unique weapons found in game

I got the game at the same time I got Dark Souls.  Got really into Dark Souls after I beat Reckoning.  I'd love to see more Kingdoms of Amalur.

it's kinda easy to stunlock small and human sized mobs
making a lot of trash mob combat into hammering attack over and over
that is part of where Dark Souls shines to me,
do not find it necessarily difficult, but one has to be as on-the-ball for trash mobs or they can get me with a stupid death

tho on the KOA topic
suppose the potential for the brand to be revived was not that big of a deal to me QQ

I just bought this for about £3 on GOG the other week, looking forward to playing it.

MY gaming situation is that I'm currently working my way through a load of old RPG's until my next system upgrade, and kind of catching up on what I've missed out on. I've never been a huge gamer, especially as an adult, but recently found my way back into it.

I've just finished the original witcher game, and I'm on chapter II of the witcher 2. Also just bought the first book.

I've also got a copy of OpenMW/heavily modded morrowind on the go, because despite numerous playthroughs over the years I never actually bothered to finish the main quest. I eventually did (anticlimax), and then I kind of got bored at Fort Frostmoth. I still intend to keep the play alive and finish bloodmoon and tribunal; I'm just a bit bored of the general mundane nature of Bethesda quests, and need a bit of a break.

Started playing Magic the Gathering Arena again desire how mad they made me banning Nexus of Fate is Best of One matches.
It makes me really happy how viable the Esper Control deck is right now.
I play a lot of midrange decks, but if Control is ever viable, I’ll be playing it,
Because I’m a sadistic fuck like that gets my fun by denying you yours.

Just cause 4... Wow they really shit the bed on this one

I really enjoyed 2-3 but this is pretty bad.

The NPCs look like they are straight outta the ps1 era, story is even worse than usual (not that anyone plays it for that), menu system is god awful and way over confusing, not near as much shit to blow up, graphics are janky as fuck, a major step down from 3, the frame rate during cutscenes is laughably bad, the vehicle physics are still a fucking joke, missions are painfully frustrating and repetitive, unintuitive, clunky controls (even worse on pc apparently)... I could go on lol

RIP just cause, it was fun while it lasted.

I'm glad it's on gamepass, had I paid even 20 bucks for this steaming pile of shit I woulda felt ripped off
