Astroneer finally hit full launch, so put a good 5 hours into that last night

utterly delightful take on space base building and survival chill and relaxing while researching and exploring frighteningly tense when wandering into a cave outside of my oxygen network and suffocating then having to lay down markers to find my way back and loot my old backpack oops

most interactions with the environment are mediated by the player using a sort of vacuum that sucks up and spews out materials have had the game for a few years since the Alpha release; back then it was possible to just spew unlimited ground and sculpt that but they have taken some steps (material canisters) to make that less overpowered can no longer simply build a big dirt dome around my base and wall myself in from storms fortunately the easy-mode planet they start the game on now is pretty environmentally forgiving

I took a long break from gaming in general (Other than playing Path of Exile here and there)
I just bought Dark Souls 3 and will sit down here and play through it soon. Excited to give it a shot since I loved DS1/2 and Bloodborne!

Gaming is definitely a nice way to escape from reality and get our minds off depression. Feel better Sara.
I definitely spent way too much time gaming when I felt down and helped me through some darker times, especially when I was trying to get my mind off drug use.

I tried to play Warframe, but the repetitiveness of it was really offputting. I think I played for like 10-20 hours or so and the missions were all so ridiculously easy. It was fun at first, but the lack of challenge and the repeat missions were just... meh.
Then, all of the sudden, I went to some open field mission and there was a giant robot thing that was impossible to deal any damage to and one shotted me and every around me.
I just quit after that, not understanding what the fuck was going on.

Warframe is the kind of game that goes from ridiculously easy to overwhelmingly difficult in a short amount of time, and that big robot thing, an Eidolon, is meant to be fought much much later in game and is just best to be avoided until then.
The joke is it takes a few hundred hours to get the hang of the game, a few hundred hours on the wiki and youtube to understand the game, and a thousand hours to finally get through the character creation stage. Then you can start playing.

I tried to start playing New Vegas again recently, but I wanted to add a couple mods first. A week later I'm still working on the load order for what ended up being around 50 mods and have pretty much lost the will to continue at this point.

Haha back when I played Skyrim that is the same shit I would do. I'd load up 100 mods, crash to desktop, fix the load order to perfection... and by that time I'd finally be like... you know what, fuck it, I don't feel like it anymore..

I've been big on warframe, brawl stars, and rdr2 mostly. Always love me some madden, or almost any sports game. My wife got me one of those mini nes systems with like 30 preloaded games so I've been bingeing on that lately: double dragons 2, zelda, super c(contra), tecmo bowl, final fantasy just to name a few. I've been trying to find a modern game like double dragons or the only ninja turtles where it was arcade style, side scrolling and ended up right back with the classics. 'If it ain't baroque' I guess

Just started playing the walking dead on xbox, season 1 is on game pass now, which is awesome because I wasn't sure if I'd like it so I never bought it.
And holy shit is it good!... I couldn't put it down, played the first 3 episodes in one sitting lol
If you don't know, it's one of those interactive story type games, like a choose your own adventure kinda thing, a lot of major choices that change the story as you go and effect how the next episode/season plays out.
I'm not always a fan of this type of game, not even a fan of the whole zombie genre.. But this is really fucking good

Is dark souls 3 any good. It's on sale and I need a new game to play. The new Civ add-on looks good too, but it is $40 and I think that is way way too much for downloadable content. Almost as much as the game itself.
Metro Exodus looks pretty ok too. I might get that one when it goes on sale.

OK. I will buy it.
Unfortunately "Obrra Dinn" got boring at the 3 hour mark when I could have returned it before 2 hours of playing. It had a lot of potential, but I found that it was getting repetitive and the clues to solve the mystery weren't that good.

Dark Souls 3 is prolly my favourite of the series; combat got really well redefined, with weapon arts adding some nifty features to various fighting styles the only bummer is that the world feels more linear; it is not quite the same as the neat multi-branching world of the previous also, for whatever reason, Dark Souls 1,2, and 3 won't detect my gamepad while my nostromo is plugged in but the remaster somehow rectified that issue
Wrapped up a game as Canada in the new Civ 6 expansion the new wonders, civs, and game mechanics feel pretty nice in game it makes the game feel more fleshed out and complete but you are likely in the right to wait until it hits a sale price

I never buy games new. I just don't game nearly as much anymore. I always wait for a sale to pick up titles for $20-30 bucks. Especially steam sales, I've picked up like 30 games before for the price of like 2 new games.
I've had a backlog of games to play for a long time now
