Playing Destiny 2 currently.
Really liking the story so far and the missions. I like the changes they've made to weapons and effects.

EU4 is great. I've recently been playing the MEIOU and Taxes 2.0 mod. You should definitely check it out.

too much stuff.
however, I believe development in eu4 should be replaced with population.
"oh heres an ancient native province in colonial new England, oh wow its just as developed as half the cities in france!' shit is dumb.

I agree, vanilla is definitely a more approachable version of the game. Then again EU4's user interface and internal mechanics are a nightmare for beginners and veterans alike. I've got about 900 hours logged onto it, and I still figure out something new from time to time.

I've worked 7 night shifts in a row (5pm to 5am), but I keep sneaking an hour of play on Zelda in the morning before going to bed.
EPIC fucking game!

I liked divinity a lot. Got me into Path of Exile which is the best ARPG I have played. Very different to the more story driven games like divinity though.

It took an extra day to download because my Steam fucked up but have jumped head first into this
They changed around stats and racial passives from beta to launch so my planned out run as a finesse-based Elf was no good anymore spent 10-12 hours poking around with builds to figure out what appeals to me on the new specs running a dual wielding Dwarf dodgetank/paladin build

about to escape the tutorial zone finally, but have been going through unlocking all the different options to get as much exps as possible
my OCD has been crazy lately and it has clearly spilled into my gaming, which is supposed to be my reprieve e.e

Cynical Altruist said: ... Why don't you like finesse based elves? I didn't play the beta at all; I've only recently discovered this franchise. Let me know if you want to try the multiplayer sometime!
During the Beta Elves started with +2 Finesse and Finesse added +1% dodge chance per stat level stacking on top of +1% dodge increase from dual wield level so could build for high burst damage and then off-tank without putting too much strain on the healer
They changed the racial bonus to +1 loremaster
Personally running a (strength weapons) dual wielding Dwarf as my main character and tank +5% dodge chance + dodge chance from leveling Dual Wield + 10% dodge chance from Parry Master talent as well as a bonus to dodge chance for having another character in my party running Leadership hit 30% dodge chance before even leaving the prison actually rerolled one more time to spec more heavily into Strength and drop Intelligence from my build in Divinity Original Sin 1, Intelligence increased the power of heals and reduced the cooldown of magic spells since neither of those are true any longer, it is safe to spec a Paladin into Hydrosophist with minimal intelligence and just focus all spells on non-Intelligence scaling benefits and run Necromancer in mix so that all damage done with weapons + Warfare + Polymorph heals me
Sebille is running as an Enchanter to stack up Loremaster bonus and is primarily heals and buffs Lohse is a dual wielding Shadowblade (humans get +crit chance and + initiative; Shadowblade starts with levels in Thievery for lockpicking) Ifan is a Battlemage for the Persuasion bonus, because he starts with Pet Pal as an extra bonus Talent so having him build persuasion will make the quests from speaking to animals easier to complete but will be giving him a shield so he can main tank rather than dual wielding
have two human characters in my party to make sure that the Encourage racial buff can always be active
Am probably going to run a human mage next playthrough to take Red Prince, Beast and/or Fane with me
had 60 hours put into the Beta mastering the min/max ways to do a bunch of stuff on the island and they completely changed around the min maxing on me
Elves still have the most interesting racial history to me particularly with the whole eating people to absorb their memories factor but they added the bit on the Ship where Sebille licks the player and tells of your past and it made me realize that a lesbian relationship between elves would cause a bunch of fucked-up trips down memory lane for both parties

Am also fond of Dwarves for the bonus to Sneak which is potentially my favourite Civil skill particularly with Divinity 2 having more clear sight-cones than Divinity 1 did but ended up building up Lucky Charm because they made it more like Divinity OS1 where it procs and finds armour and weapons, instead of just increasing gold found (which it did in Beta)

Well, the game has been continually marketed to appeal to Dungeons and Dragons players looking for an outlet in modern videogaming and, in that regard, it has gameplay mechanics that make it great
am running through the story campaign totally solo, but have a number of friends already interested in multiplayer used to play D&D with some of them, back when we lived in the same city and Divinity: Original Sin 2 effectively gives us a medium to more effectively do so despite being hundreds of miles apart now so, if the game world itself ever gets boring, Game Master mode makes it easy enough to do short campaigns and storytelling with friends
beyond that, the game universe has decent levels of variations to distinguish it from others and the races feel meaningfully connected to the history/lore of the game world which makes absorbing it more interesting
my OCD gives me constant intrusive thoughts of suicide, death by fire, everyone I love being brutally tortured which results in me ritualistically spending hours at the sink trying to scrub myself clean to try and mitigate the thoughts and PTSD sends me falling back down a hole into rape and abuse in my childhood it means a lot to me to be able to get absorbed into another world for a while so as long as there are people willing to concoct large-scale stories for me to adventure through will happily jump into them, even if the fantasy races ever start to feel samey or opposite to one another (ie: Divinity Lizard people are aristocratic rulers; Elder Scrolls Argonians are oppressed slaves)
my larger problem is that my current batch of medication seems to be serving in a counter-productive manner such that the intrusive thoughts are coming at me while deeply absorbed in game and have started ritualistically rerolling characters and tweaking builds to try and get myself absorbed and distracted
fantasy worlds just tend to have more power in swaying my mind from the real world compared to things like Fallout or Shadowrun being heavily steeped in the real world as influences and lore at least Fantasy worlds do not have me constantly focused on oppressive corporations and nuclear fire

You guys are talking about Divinity OS 2 right? I am debating whether to empty the $45 I have in my steam wallet on it right now, I probably will because I really liked the original.
Def worth it??

Like the original, but only create one character at the start npc party members are more fleshed out than in OS1 tho also Original Sin 1 was prequel to Divine Divinity (have not personally played it) while Original Sin 2 is the Sequel to Divine Divinity so the time-frame of the two games is pretty far apart
definitely solid, well constructed and it is nice to have more playable races than just humans in OS1
most every aspect improves on the original, but there are some outright changes Shields no longer give dodge chance, but Armour and Magic Armour Armour and Magic Armour instead of just being passive damage mitigation now act as mini health bars to be depleted before HP mechanically it is pleasant and adds another layer of tactical depth because some enemies will be heavy into one type of armour but have almost none of the other so bursting down a mage with physical attacks is easier than trying to go toe-to-toe with spells
it feels slightly more refined than OS1, and does interesting things in comparison and contrast to OS1 as well
probably my favourite game purchase of the last 5 years, if not longer

but as a disclaimer, my experience so far is only up to the end of Act 1 it is possible there is some sort of nose-dive in content in further Acts would not personally care at that point, because it makes custom campaigns so easy and the mechanics are pleasant

i dont mind the concept of different races. i just dont like how the exact same ones are always copy and pasted with one or two unique ones thrown in. Why does every fantasy universe have to have dwarves and elves and undead and shit. It's been beaten to death
