Detroit become human. That game has blown me away, it is so immersive. The graphics, story, characterization and voice/acting are all truly incredible. Almost unprecedentedly flawless and convincing acting in a computer game with such wholly believable and compelling characters.

Not my sort of game normally but it's just so well done...

Lieutenant Anderson (he cracks me up) and his trusty sidekick Conner are my personal favourites.

Also Titanfall 2 is fantastic on the highest difficulty level. Such satisfying combat though I haven't really got into the actual Titans yet. By that I mean I haven't stated to enjoy using them as much as being on the ground with a gun!

Crysis with AI and graphics mods is also fantastic, puts many modern games to shame even today. So much better with the mods than Vanilla though...

All in all I'm starting to better utilize my new 4k monitor...

They are doing a remaster of Crysis.

Was reading on Reddit gaming today that it's not that impressive apparently.

Waiting impatiently for Cyberpunk 2077

Will be amazed if it lives up to the hype! Trouble is fanboys will claim it does even if it doesn't!

For me the main thing will be that it has challenging combat as opposed to the piss poor Witcher 3 variety, by which I mean, insultingly shallow and easy. I really hope it's not another mainstream kind of experience such as Red dead, far cry 3 (everything on rails and blinking) or GTA 5. Those games are fun for messing around, but the gameplay and SP experience is too dumbed down for my taste. Games like titanfall 2 are more my kind of games. Visceral satisfying combat that presents enough challenge to keep me trying.

Hopefully it will be more like kingdom come deliverance, with an environment that reacts to the players actions, and punishes accordingly, rather than an amazingly great looking world, with no real gameplay.

I hate this idea that its an RPG so the gameplay/combat is supposed to suck, as I find it breaks all immersion if the gameplay/combat/AI is indeed terrible. Wasn't that the combat in KCD was that good, but it was challenging enough to create the illusion of being a real character who needed to care about his own welfare, and act accordingly.

The Forest VR..  Soo much fun!

It's cool but like a lot of VR experiences (except flight and racing sims) I just can't play games like that with a heavy headset on for many hours. I get sick of 3D glasses at the cinema after a while so games like Sub-nautica, cool as they are in VR, are too discomforting after a while, especially when its summer. GTA5 (and flight/racing sims) works well as you can dip in and out just having fun, but survival games in which you must spend hours gathering resources? Gah painful!

My VR is out of action (accident with superglue) and I'm planning on getting a new headset, but as I mainly fly DCS, I'm mulling waiting a while till the technology catches up (So I can fly the campaingns at a decent frame rate). I don't miss it as much as I thought to be honest, as I've been playing alot of great 2D games recently (Titanfall 2, detroit become human) that are probably better all round gaming experiences.

VR is mighty cool and (miss my DCS spitfire) I am certain it has a bright future, but after playing it since the beginning I really do feel it has a way to go yet...

I have, strong, disloyality, cannot express on internet, towards Chinese government.

Seriously I couldn't play them.  I HATE what they are doing to Hong Kong and what they do to media and protesters and hearing the stories of societal scores and complete lack of privacy and facial recoginition and on and on.  Know it is just a game but still, like to feel I am on the good side when playing.

The 'good' side being America? I don't think you've been paying attention to what has been happening these last 20 years buddy, neither internally (patriot act, wiki leaks, Snowdon, Assange) or externally (911, war on terrorism, Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, Afganistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya etc). Maybe you missed your own protests and the police/government/army behavior/attitude towards your own citizens and journalists' right to protest?

I've lived in China for about 15 years and I can tell you that both the US and China share way more similarities than either of you realize, and that becomes truer with every passing year (see above). The US does not give two shits about Chinas human rights record, or human rights for that matter, and it amazes me that anyone could still think of them(selves) as some kind of paragon of virtue or morality in that respect.

The reason the US government is conditioning its citizens to despise the Chinese government should worry us all because governments only dehumanize other governments in order to dehumanize their peoples by proxy, the ultimate aim being to prepare its own people for war.

China is no more communist than America is a freedom-loving democracy, and nationalists on both sides are as equally brainwashed and ignorant as each other.

Nor is everything black and white. Americans may have more freedom than the Chinese people but I can guarantee you that paradoxically the Chinese people, in general, feel far safer on the streets at night, and contrary to western perceptions, do not live quaking in fear, but simply avoid politics. You have old people in the UK too afraid to leave their own houses because the council estates are full of thugs! It's all relative.

You may find it hard to believe but many Chinese people do not want a political system like ours because they believe it is total chaos. China has a huge population and has to reckon with the US and its allies' intelligence (hostile) services' and propaganda machine.

Opening up and relinquishing tight control could well be disastrous for the country as a whole especially as American belligerence increases. China actually began tightening up its control, around about the time America's fictitious War On Terrorism began (North Korea significantly being on the hitlist). May have been coincidental but then again maybe not...

Westerners all too susceptible to their own nations propaganda seem to believe it would be good for the Chinese people if their government was violently overthrown or their economy crashed to achieve this, while normal people (like me and my family who live here) would obviously view such an occurrence as a total calamity for all involved. And they have the audacity to claim the moral high ground!

Politics in the west is now such fucked and fugazi bullshit anyway that like the Chinese a lot of westerners also have no choice but to avoid politics, for different reasons, but with pretty much the same result!

But for the love of god man, you are not the good guys!

Certainly says a lot for your propaganda. You should take the time to watch some of the videos that Jullian Assange brought to light, showing American soldiers laughingly and systematically murdering journalists (the journalist who brought these crimes to the public attention now faces 100 years in jail and fears the old Guantanamo treatment) and their families in Iraq. Or maybe take a look at some of the pictures of war that the many imperial conquests the US has participated in or provoked during the last 20 years (blinded children with their arms and legs blown off etc) have produced, or research the horrifying effects depleted uranium is having in Iraq, etc!

Right you are. I'm playing crusader kings 3. Must want my head testing considering that I bought CK2 and never really played it, but I'm trying to make an effort and hoping I'll start enjoying it before my interest wanes completely. Sounds great once you know how to play it but there's a learning curve and I don't exactly have unlimited time as I am also studying maths which obviously has priority...

Happy to hear any suggestions for PC games to try after RDR2...

Kingdom Come Deliverance is a fantastic game in that respect (roam free) and fricking beautiful as well. Like being out in the countryside there are times when you just have to drink it all in!

The dialogue between the characters is also incredibly on point and immersive (they are like real people) and the accuracy of the history is incredibly detailed (you will learn about the time period) though the combat takes some learning. I think its best to play the game on as hardest difficulty as possible though and play it like a real person (avoid combat whenever possible).

Not going near cyberpunk myself as its getting a lot of flak and I can't say I'm surprised. I had deep suspicions when I saw the unprecendented hype it was getting, often a sign these days that the developers are putting PR above silly things like satisfying/challenging gameplay and AI etc. But the level of hype for this one was unreal.

I haven't played it myself (and my hatred of the modern industry probably makes me biased) but I'm tending to believe this reviewer (although not sure if he's being serious with the boasting!). I know some YT reviewers go for click-bait controversy but its not only that a lot of people are echoing what he's saying, but that I was honestly almost certain myself that this game would turn out just as he says it is.

People just have to stop preordering games and buying into the hype.

I think I'm better off with Noita and am probably going to pick or Hades and parkitect!

I've been hooked on Noita recently. It's a really fun anti-player game that gets pretty ridiculous in terms of what combos you can make for spells. The fact that every single pixel is simulated is cool but really annoying at the same time IMO.

Also I guess that when the new champion Viego comes out on League of Legends I'm gonna start playing that again

Where noita really gets interesting is when you start to go off the (normal) path and explore.

A far better game than its sequels especially from far cry 3 (or grand theft far cry) onwards IMO.

I agree.  The 'Far Cry' game seemingly* gets worse with each new release .  FC6 looks crap.
*(Haven't played all of them)

Concerning the first Far Cry.  After playing it, I get the feeling that it was the foundation/inspiration for the game Crysis.

Oh without doubt. It was the game that launched cry engine I think or at least put it on the map and yes you are quite right crysis was really only a more futuristic far cry but basically the same game made by the same devs I believe. Far cry was the first game I ever played where I felt truly convinced by the vast openness of the world and the realism of the graphics/terrain.

But more importantly it was a game made before developers started to dumb everything down and stopped making games challenging.

The checkpoint system combined with the dense Vietnam-like jungle terrain made for some really tense gameplay on higher difficulties with hit run and hide tactics being the only way to win.

Sekiro. Also have Elden Ring but I prefer Sekiro for some reason. The combat/action just feels more bad ass. Also -with limited time- I prefer knowing what I am doing/where I am going with the more linear progression in Sekiro. Easier game to just pick up and play for half an hour!
