I'm a little scared to get back into xcom 2 with the new long war 2 mod out.
Been watching people get rolled on streams and I'm not sure i am up to throw away a bunch of hours just yet.

Never really played Total War but liked the idea of the game, now that it's painted in Warhammer I'm all over it. & on sale on steam atm
the size and scope are a bit intimidating, i don't have those kind of hours to play and who wants to auto resolve everything? i enjoy the game but it seems clunky in some ways.
edit, been busy with heroes of the storm since my friend puled me into the nexus but outside of that not too much. when i get over my xcom2 butthurt i will start it up again, the long war 2 mod still needs tweaking but i can't really get into vanilla after enjoying long war 2.
hopefully will have some more gaming time soon. would enjoy a good rpg to get into.

Hit 16 hours and taking a break, there is apparently more to it than the surface level bigger domes means being able to run a combination of services experimenting with a psychiatric tower that gets rid of peoples negative traits then shipping them back to various work domes also have had to basically throw up a dome of just housing as people who get old retire and leave the workforce but don't just turn around and die -- so they have to be shuttled to a new living quarters and someone else assigned to work at their job
there is definitely micromanaging that has been under my radar/ignored while learning it can presumably use the school to generate Martianborn colonists of varying specialties to maximize effectiveness and efficiency in workflow but have only started to play around with things like that in the mid-sized dome
The part that had me take a break was after scanning the surface of the planet and sending my research drones out happened across a weird reflective orb/egg thing buried in the dirt now the game is giving me options to attempt to communicate with it through radio waves or attempt to drill into it with a drone and am avoiding taking action because the trailer for the game had a bunch of big reflective spheres floating over the colony suctioning things up and am really not ready for any sort of disaster management
not really clear on what it will develop into and how it will mechanically impact the game spent the past couple days taking screenshots in Skyrim and posting on the Bethesda forums show your character thread so my insights are still paused there at the moment
and im bouncing between that sounds epic but also sounds like a task. thanks for the reply il give it a patch or two and rewatch some streams to see how i feel.

looking at Mutant Year Zero: Road to Zion
it's like xcom but with some semi open world mechanics involved. watching a stream now... looks pretty decent.

Im finally starting to get into Age of Wonders Planetfall. Really enjoying it so far. It's a lot to take in at first but starting to get the ins and outs.

Just finished the first campaign mission with these hoes running amok lol

yeah said: just started playing this game after reading your post and man it's too easy on beginner but the next up was advanced so I wasn't sure if I should pick that
There isn't much room for error when you are learning what tech or exploit would be optimal in your particular loadout/location. Also some abilities stack in surprising ways.
Tried to clear a big voidtech landmark and got wrecked with 2 of them living with 1hp each lol. They had some crazy dimensions shift attack that disabled my unit for like 3 turns. That was interesting.
Im a vet of the series and still am finding things out, I played a lot of age of wonders 3, but planetfall is a fair bit more complex with the mod system and the city/diplomacy being more involved.
