need help with ephedra

So ive gone through 4 packs of seeds and not had a single plant. I currently sprinkle some seed on the surface and I also bury them pointy end down with the rest of the seed sticking up out. I use canna coco coir and perlite as i do with all my plants. I know ephedra need sandy substance to grow in. Any pointers on how to get these fuckers to germinate, ive had them in the fridge for two months to try cold stratification but that also failed.

I was able to germinate mine fine. Keepi g them alive was a different story.
All i did was keep them in a bag in high humidity and keep them in the shade. More than that, i dont know what to tell you.

Hmm I dont get what the problem is. Im guessing the seeds are getting too damp and dying. I give them a good month but never get any action.

Try the moist paper towel method. That and a 24 hour cold stratification has given me pretty good germ rates. But like ferrel_human keeping them alive isn't easy.

You can always pasteurized / sterilize the soil by baking it at low temperatures to decrease the chance of disease or pests. I've got one plant growing, it's several years old and Incredibly Tiny still haha.

You're assuming that you did something wrong, when there is no guarantee that the vendor is selling viable seeds.
I would be timely, thorough, consider refunds, boycott, downrate consistently-flaky people, and prepare to calmly shelter-in-place, during the ensuing shit storm, because some people frankly do not deserve to be in business.

I'm assuming that some discussion of vendors is allowed, provided that it's not spammy, or already being advertised, right in our faces, already.
Well, let them earn some of this trust, which you seem to be giving them.
Let the best man win.

One way to be precise...
I break-up dried, generic, native soil with a hand pick or sturdy trowel. This is a mix of organic material, silica, clay, and small rocks -- not presumably, highly acidic, nor alkaline.
I pinch this with my tough fingertips, or some potters use a coarse mortar and pestle. I filter this through a reclaimed window screen. Do not be forceful with a screen.
This tends to remove, common, native insects, which love to eat tender sprouts.
In my conditions, I find that damaging molds and fungus gnats grow in the larger debris, now separated.
I reclaim industry 1 gallon pots (not a real gallon) and put some recycled bags in the bottom, to keep the fine soil from pouring through. This also tends to keep hungry insects and crabgrass from coming through the bottom.
I place the level of the soil some inches beneath the top of the pot, so as to provide a little wind barrier and shadow across the surface. If you choose to use a humidity dome, allow for slight, passive airflow. It has to move a little. If you put this on a window sill, and there's not a blizzard or downpour, outside, a draft is good and much-needed. Maybe, a smallish fan on low speed, so it doesn't get stale.
Water with compost tea, just enough to keep it moist, no more, no less. Large plants can fruit, with little foot room, under regular "fertigation."
But, if I want to transplant, I use an even mix of homemade compost and native soil, filtered through a larger, sturdier grade of mesh, in the neighborhood of 1cm. It's always beneficial, to constantly replenish soil in large planters, and around the landscape.
We know when it's frigid, boiling, soggy, dry, bright or dark, and, with minor variations, plants like what we like.
A conscientious, human presence would have increased the carrying capacity of the land and animal habitat.
But, you can see that this takes alot of work. You can't let yourself be ripped off, because the time is valuable.
