Shotgun + BRF issues

I'm about to start on my 3rd time around.
Last time my issues were great looking cakes and then they just kept on growing more mycelium (aerial?) and didn't fruit for weeks. Once they did they sucked. I got LOTS of "mutants" this time around. Just chunks growing on the cakes, like half thumb sized blobs and strange looking mushrooms.
I have a proper SFC, holes on all 6 sides, 1/4" 2" apart. 3" of perlite on bottom. Kept really moist (too moist I think). I also think there was too much co2. Not enough airflow. I had them in a walk in closet on shelf.
Is the solution to fan often next time around? Any ideas on possible issues? Contam (green mold) didn't happen till like 5 fruit cycles so I'd say I don't have a contam issue. Never have had contam on colonizing in jars. Not even one. Even with LC corn syrup I made.

I'd probably get it out of the closet. You kinda want it in the middle of a room with door open. That would help tremendously.
-------------------- Alright then, picture this if you will: 10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" post, just outside of Area 51. Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this. Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping... Holy fucking shit!

It's a small walk in and the door is always open.
What do you think of a small fan? I know I know, hear me out. A small USB fan on a timer that can do 1 minute on 4 hours off etc.

Another thing to point out. I dumped all the perlite and it was pretty slimy at the bottom. I believe the holes in bottom of tub were basically useless/blocked. This was "gold" something brand. I ordered a bag of different stuff for next time around.
Also, I'm seeing lots of "fuzzy feet" especially when they are ready to be picked. I've been cutting that part off. Should I? It's a significant amount of weight but not sure if that's good or not. Doesn't really exist in wild, that I have seen
