Mushrooms VS the common cold

I decided to do some mushrooms yesterday, but half way through the day I started coming down with a cold, and it's a fucking bad one.
So I thought; this calls for a muzz an experiment!
Hypothesis: Will mushrooms help or cure a cold? / What happens if I take mushrooms with a cold?
Experiment: I took about 20, maybe one or two more, I always measure them by quantity not weight and I try to get an even distribution of sizes so I'm not taking 20 tiny ones and getting a lower dose than average.
Results: While on mushrooms the symptoms of my cold faded a little and barely bothered me.
No negative effects except that this is a particularly bad cold so my second hypothesis, which I'm not sure how to test, is; Mushrooms may give you temporary relief at the expense of depleting/hindering your immune system which makes the cold worse the next day. I was expecting it to get worse, but like I say, it's a particularly bad one. Although I do feel super relaxed and nice despite having a cold.
Just wanted to share my experiment really but let me know what you think about this as well
P.S. yesterday feels like a lifetime ago, time perception distortion makes it feel like I lived a whole extra day on my trip, hahaha

"Mushrooms may give you temporary relief at the expense of depleting/hindering your immune system which makes the cold worse the next day."
Can you elaborate on this, is this common knowledge or something?
I've done the same thing btw, taken a fairly low dose of mushrooms when I've had a flu and I didn't have any of the symptoms for the time I was shroomy, same deal goes for any other issue I have too. Meditation is the same, the negativity from illnesses and pains in general are a product of a judging mind, that's been my experience at least.

It's scientific knowledge. It's the case for most drugs, especially alcohol, "the worst drug of them all" :P they hinder your immune system.
Maaaaan, if I was as drunk as I am high right now, I would not be able to type and I'd be vomiting everywhere. Instead I'm having a lovely time listening to music, having revelations and epiphanies and important realisations about myself. Alcohol is so shit compared to this.
whoa the mushrooms are growing on my head again time to go, i just gotta let them do their thing :P
p.s. I'm totally aware there are no mushrooms on my head in reality, through everything i have a grip on reality.

oh also, lots of relief from symptoms the more you take.... but you're also kind of distracted by the experience.

It's so subjective, I have tripped with a cold and sometimes it makes it feel so much worse. The stuffiness, the coughing, the drowsiness. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Is it *really* the case for most drugs though, what are you basing that on? Marijuana does things to both raise and lower the immune system, neither are really that pronounced though so it effectively does nothing. I don't know but I have no reason to believe that psychedelics/5ht agonists do anything though I would suspect they might help in some way if there is a change. Uppers don't tend to affect your immune system unless you use them to the point of exhaustion. Most otc drugs don't have any significant effect. What else is there?
