The big southern Snow of 2004
    #2382280 - 02/27/04 09:47 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Well folks we got between 12" and 14" of snow over the past 2 days. Down here in NC & SC we do not have removal equipment and everything shuts down when the first snowflake is spotted. Needless to say we can not easily get to the office today. So for all of you that have an order pending please understand the short delay. We will resume normal operation on Monday. until then I am off to go 4x4 in the snow and see if I can help anyone who may be stuck.
yeah I can get to the office but UPS will still not run down our way.
Enjoy the snow, make a snow mushroom and I will see you all Monday.

A picture from a local news station.

Record snowfall shuts down area

07:35 AM EST on Friday, February 27, 2004

By TERRI BENNETT / Chief Meteorologist

The record snowfall for a calendar day in Charlotte is 14" and we've shattered that record in many locations!

Snow fell most of the day Thursday with a band of thundersnow developing from Rock Hill to Charlotte to Albemarle around 6 p.m.

This is the area that saw up to 18" of snow by midnight.

Nearly all of the area saw at least 7" of snow with widespread 12" totals.

The wind created drifts up to 3 feet deep mother nature won't start melting any of the snow until Saturday.

Make sure to check in with WCNC-TV throughout the day for more updates.

Wow!

We got us a "Man Snow" here in Knoxville.

They told us it was 8 inches
It was really more like 4 inches
But it really felt like nothing

Needless to say we're fine. Funny how we are not that far but you guys consistantly get shitty winter weather. Gotta love being in a valley!

Keep warm MycoBag!

Well the roads are clear but there is still a lot of snow.
I put out some corn for the local deer, they mostly come at night.
I got lucky and got this picture of 6 deer. They come visit very often.
The flash on the camera was not stong enough for the distance so I enhanced the image a little.
