I got an ATL#7 spore syringe that will not germ. I Tried MEA+PDA. Should I try 10% Coffee agar? What about going ms>rye? Any Ideas? I want to eat stones.

Brf plates are very good if you use spore solution because of it's uneven surface, the capacity it has to absorb excess liquid and because it's a highly nutrituos media (some people say this helps with germination). Once the spores germinate you can transfer healthy myc to agar plates, like you normally would.

Bookmarked thanks Jose

I've got an off topic question. Anyone else experiencing a tiny text field on their mobile? When I type I can only see the upper half of my text, one line at a time. Really frustrating and making editing impossible...

Can I remove this loner to get an even first flush?
I've done it before, and worked out lovely. Thought I'm not even sure if it'll make a difference?
Just put tub into fruiting conditions now.

Been there. It happened to me like a year ago. I complained and the admin told me they're looking into it. They asked if what they did worked and it didn't.. then the next day it was all good again. Not doing it for me right now though.
Try a different browser as well
Or pick the loner when it's mature?

I'll probably have to wait till I get on my laptop to do that. My thumbs are too fat to click that hat tiny corner Tried switching skins, changing the field height from 200 to 400 in settings. Switching browser. I contacted administration so guess I'll just deal with it for now.
Went to try and edit a thankyou in the post and while I was clicking the text a million times the text field just opened up like magic haha thanks guys

Okay let me get this straight Master slants are just tubes filled with agar and a hydrated stick 3/4 the way full? Does the wood need to be outside the agar? Or can it be fully sub merged in the agar?
I just put a piece of agar into the slant and toss in the fridge and it's good to go for a few years? Can I use potatoes agar? Why does it need to be 10mm and only 7 mm full?
I read a tek on master slants and it had way more info than I needed so it was a bit misleading if you understand...

The wood is a back up plan for longer storage..yes fridge...yes spuds..and 7mm because it needs room to be slanted ...hence the name.

Throw in a few bits of wood ontop of agar thats what u use to retrieve myc. The agar is just there to provide nutient and moisture.

CBK, RR has a vid on how to make slants with pieces of wood. If you don't have an autoclavable rack for your slants you can use this tek

Hello everyone,
My first BRF jars ever are being colonized right now. I think I have a few weeks to plan ahead the fruiting phase.
My question is : is there anything I can do to maximise the yield? My first plan was to simply fruit them as cakes. Could someone point me some stuffs I could do? Like casing maybe?
I've got 4 jars.
Thank you very much, have a nice day
