Unknown from a old stump in my front yard.

Habitat: Where does it grow? Assuming its growing from wood underneath ground very close to an oak stump, speading out into the grass likely off a root.
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
Stem: Various sizes, short to tall, solid, thick
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: In progress
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
Other information: Smells kinda sweet and earthy.
Sorry for the lack of info.. will update more when i get a chance

They are Armillaria (honey mushroom). I think the younger caps taste pretty good cooked up well with some salt and butter.

I would label these armillarea tabescens due to the lack of an annulus.

I was hoping itd be a type of honey fungus. I didnt look like the normal ringed oe though so i wasnt quite sure. But will get more better pics, there are several clusters too some old alot are younger. But have read the edibility status as cautionary?

Some people experience indigestion when eating them. It's not too common though. It is a good idea to eat just a small amount the first time to be sure your not one of those people.
