Spore clumps on mycelium or contams??

Hello everyone, I'm new in this forum sobear with me. I inoculated one single half pint jar with 2cc of water heavily populated with psilocybe cubensos cambodian. Aftet seeing mycelial gtowth at a standard and healthy rate, with no contams, i g2g inocced 6 jars with that such live tissue.I did all this in a sterilized still air box. They havr been sitting alone in my closet for 5 days now and I see healthy mycelial growth but also I see wha looks to be some type of fuzzy mycelium almost with dark spots that seem to tint it grey and its grow at the same speed as the psilocybe mycelium. The mycelium from this source itself is white. This is my second encouter within 2 sepereate grows that were both in the same grow earea but after lysol and heavily saturated alcohol spray and sterilisation processes were finished. It was clean. I would like to know if this is any type of contamination or just clumps of apires like I have seem to fibd in my research so far.

I am curious; what sort of grain did you use? At the risk of being wrong, I will not speculate what specific sort of contamination you got, but it is definitely contaminated. This is why I hate G2G. It does not matter if the jars you use are good, or not. There is a high risk of contamination as soon as you open those jars. I have used glove boxes, and still had a contaminated jar, or two, when I used the grain-to-grain method.

In the future, use less spore solution when inoculating a half-pint jar. You are just wasting spores if you use more than 1CC, especially if it is a dark solution, filled with spores. 1CC is more than enough, even for a pint jar. Good luck, man!

You can't really do BRF to BRF transfers, not with the PF tek anyway. The biggest defence against contamination it has is the dry vermiculite layer which is disturbed if you move the jars too much, let alone transfer bits of mycelium out of jars.

Yeah, I thought it was brown rice flour. I was really confused, because it did not look like grain. Definitely try grain over the PF Tek. It will never let you down, and you can indefinitely use grain-to-grain transfers once you have established a master jar. Good luck to you, and happy growing!

So I actually went outside with all the jrs I had in this batch and opened then to toss them and it was straight blacl like the dots formed some typ of dark black fuzz. Definitely decided it was not worthy of saving. Jars were tosaed new spores will be ordered.
