Baeocystis, Stuntzii, and Cyans on school property
    #23818038 - 11/10/16 12:18 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

It's been a couple years since I've posted anything on the forum, but after years of picking cyans, I've finally come upon what I believe to be Baeocystis in front of my school district office, ten feet away from Stuntziis in grass, and about 100ft away from a large patch of Cyanescens. How sweet.

The Baeos were growing in a woodchip mulch, soil mixture, and a few of the specimens were growing in the grass just feet away from Stuntziis. Based on photos I've seen in the past, I identified these as P. Baeocystis. Ruffled cap margin, intensely bluing white stipe.

Suspected Psilocybe Baeocystis:

Larger, flatter capped specimens:

The stuntziis on the other hand I've dealt with in the past, so I've got the I.D. down on these ones.

Aside from all of this, here's my last true Cyan haul of this season:

And to make up for what I've picked...
P. Cyan spore water!

I've already sprayed this stuff all over the city, and there was this wood chip trail near my school that i sprayed in about a 10ft radius. I thought it was the perfect habitat for cyans. Blackberry bushes, hardwood. No cyans in sight. So I sprayed the spores. Two weeks later, coincidentally I see this nice large cluster exactly where I had sprayed the spores.

Sorry for the kinda long post. Any input is appreciated

How'd you make your spore water? Just printed all the caps on aluminum?

I always wash my cyans off in a small tub and scrub off the purple spores on the caps. after doing this to 20-30 specimens, the water becomes a dark purple color. I did this to about 5oz of dry cyans (don't know the fresh weight), and managed to fill eight bottles

Nice man. I'm jealous, I've not been able to find baeos yet, been looking for year too.
