Trump has told the people in West Virginia that he will get their jobs back. He won't. Coal is dead. Move on.
It's not dead yet....not with Trumps EPA appointee.
Coal is dead because it can't compete with other fossil fuels. It costs more to mine coal than its energy content is worth.
Coal is experiencing an artificially accelerated death because of excess regulations and taxes the Obama administration has imposed on it. Under trump coal will perform better than it has the past 8 years. That's not to say eventually other forms of energy production will edge it completely out of the market.

Coal accounts for 38% of US power generation and coal plants are being phased out because natural gas is cheaper.
Power generation pretty much the only customer left for coal and plans for new plants have pretty much evaporated.
Quote:
The May 2007 list, which showed 151 proposed coal plants, received widespread publicity and helped galvanize the movement for a coal moratorium.[1] As of December 2013, the status of the plants shown on the list was as follows:[2]
Cancelled, abandoned, or on hold: 106 projects; Early stages of development: 3 projects; Advanced stages of development: 1 projects; In operation or under construction: 41 projects.
Here's a list of the cancelled coal plant projects in the past ten years.

Eventually it would have killed coal on its own, but coal is dying an artificially accelerated death due to regulation and taxes. Things will change under Trump. Will liberals ever get that the fake news sources they still regurgitate all day are the same fake news sources that fed them the lies and bullshit for the past year? t

So coal is a dead end. You just admitted that. It's pretty much dead now, so why revive it artificially, just to have it die again in a decade. That's not responsible leadership. That's pandering.

Koods, it's okay. Hillary is RIGHT. Fake news IS the reason why she didn't get elected. All the fake news about how Russians were behind exposing her corruption and media collusion is indeed why she was elected. A majority of Americans were smart enough to see past that bullshit, recognize that Russia wasn't doing shit and that Hillary's team and the media plainly were exposed as being corrupt pieces of elitist garbage. All of the fake news about Hillary's vast support and fake poll numbers are what put genuine Americans off from supporting her. Hillary benefited from massive voter fraud and millions of illegals voting and she still lost. Sad!

Yeah, because commodity prices never go higher. You do realize natural gas has moved substantially higher this year?
Do you remember the price spikes in the last 10 years?

By that logic why should any energy production other than nuclear fusion be invested in? Trump isn't artificially reviving coal. He's returning the amount of regulations and taxes to a level where we can be competitive again, and then letting it die it's natural death. In other words he's unleashing coal from the irresponsible shackles Obama put on it.
Thank you Lord, we finally have a leader that knows that the fuck he's doing.

You seem to forget that Trump was handed the election by Comey and the Russians. Why doesn't that bother you guys. Trump has even reneged on his promises of blowjobs to both of them ....deferring to Ivanka.
His pick for the E P A will set this country back 100 years in the care and concern of the environment. Maybe you don't care but your kids probably will. Koods is right about coal and even natural gas is extracted using flawed bullshit sideways drilling and environmentally unfriendly casing through the aquifers using harmful chems that are classified because of bullshit competition laws. People seem so short sighted and all about themselves...that's what I don't like about this trend. Very scary...the entitlement in this country has skyrocketed to the point where we are no longer respected around the world. Trump will accelerate this process...maybe to catastrophic ends.

It was the Russians. All the intelligence agencies acknowledge that. Somebody did it? If not the Russians, who?
Fake news about the polls? The polls were pretty damn close. They had her winning by 2 points on the day before the election, and that's what happened she won by 2 points. Trump won Wisconsin. Michigan and Pennsylvania by less than a percentage. Well within the margins of error for those polls. Less than 100,000 votes in those three states made the difference between a win and a loss - polls can't discern that kind of razor thin margin.
And you have no proof of massive voter fraud. That's what we call fake news.
