Pretty much. Pretty sad that a Canadian has to point out how the US government works to a US citizen.

I don't know whether to shake my head or laugh.

koods criticising the way it works isn't a problem. stop trying to act patriotic, if you can't even get the concept right. it's one's duty to criticise the government and even society and culture at large. Patlal is discussing something with koods...contributing to a discussion.

Did the Reps gerrymander Marylaand 3 or the other similarly mis-shapen districts in Maryland?

How about Chicago 4 and the surrounding districts?

Actually, you can and should. As we vote by state, the popular nationwide tally is meaningless. Rightly so and enjoy those sour grapes because it will likely always be so.

Yours seems to be the prevailing view of the losing side. It's surprising the left seems to have learned nothing.

Didn't matter election day. Doesn't matter now. Won't matter later.

The cost of being in a Union instead of a Province. You have to give something to smaller States that can be significant enough for them to join your Union. Electoral power will do it. Otherwise they would say no to the Union.

As for your Gerrymandering claim; Hillary had the Democrats on her side, the media on her side, the Republicans on her side, the pollsters on her side, most world leaders on her side, she forced Sanders out, she had Wall Street support, she had celebrity support, she had events made in her name for donations, she was given foreign money and she spent by far the most money on everything.

...and she lost to the absolutely worst Republican candidate that ever existed.

The Republicans didn't cheat or gerrymander. They got lucky because of Trump.

The Democrats were just THAT bad...

A very astute post on the recent election.

Edit: Removed stuff I didn't put there.

A vote for trump was a vote for inadequate government. It's that bad. I'm not going to vote for Hillary a known war criminal. So yes let it be known trump just got elected. Hopefully the 2 parties can get there shit together instead of lieing and cheating us.

Giant douche or Turd sandwich. Take your pick.

Does anyone think that the same shit with Bush back in Fla on the recount biz will happen with this? Or did that ruin it for anyone trying it again? It's deja vu!

We'll the trump people are trying to block the recounts, even though they say that there was rampant voter fraud.

And I meant to say does anyone think if a recount happens that it will turn out to be her winning like it worked for Bush?

That's not going to happen. There's a chance that Michigan and/or Wisconsin flip. The future of the nation rests in the hands of the electors. I'm fairly confident that trump will not get 306 votes or however many he would get depending on Michigan and Wisconsin. Will 37 electors bail on him? Doubtful, but there will be a few and that is still unprecedented and will irritate the fuck out him.
