See that's why we have Provinces up here. The federal override almost everything. You guys have this weird 50 independent countries doing their own thing in a Union. It gives too much power to the states and not enough to the federal. Then again I totally see why you would want that. Its weird...

Exactly. It is possible to get a fake ssn and get a driver's liscence as an illegal, but not easy or cheap. Nobody sneaks into the US to vote.

I would support voter ID if the state made it easy and free to get an ID. What do you think?

Why is the popular notion that's granted among most historians involve the idea that a republic such as ours was originally way more efficient then a parliamentary system but through abuse of a "democracy" and care for the parliamentary system, our system is way less efficient then most other people's system of governance? Did I get that right?
Same system. Different rate of efficiency. People originally came here to escape Europe's government. What went wrong here and right there over 250 years course of time?
I kind of wanted to sway off the subject of right side vs left side for a minute
Right here
I cropped the post so just the last question is viewable. If you want to see the original post it's on page 20

Ok I was really high when I wrote that

Let me break it down
1) American democracy was at one time a refuge to people right? People came here to escape the parliament
2) yet now, people think a parliament is more democratic then democracy. In a way. I guess. I don't know. Is it? If so. Why? If not. Why not?
3) If so, what's changed so much between the two governments over a long source of time?

No way.
I saw this though:
"The presidential system is better for democracy than the parliamentary one because of its separation of powers, the role of the judiciary, and government accountability to its people. A presidential system is advantageous because of the relationship between the executive and the legislature."
Online. Koods couldn't answer it even though it's not directed at him so it doesn't matter(sorry, that was mistyped). Why is a parliamentary better? More so why was it at one time the most feared form of government? I don't want to go as far back as to the time of King Longshanks. Not sure if that was parliamentary or something else.
At there more checks and balances in a parliamentary system?
Many people in other threads have said only people in the US think life is better in the US. I've never been to a country with a parliamentary system so I couldn't tell you.

because there are alot of poignant things that can put the screw in these debates, but they aren't popular opinions; or, there are better things to talk about and people are distracted with stupid arguments that do not ever provide a complete picture, no matter how hard you try, because there are more important and better things to discuss and do, and we're not doing them.
