He probably means drain cleaner because you use NaOH in the extraction process. You see that kind of ignorance of chemistry all the time. Just because you use a chemical in a process, doesn't mean it remains in the product. I think people believe chemistry is like cooking.

Cooking can involve reductions tho. That excess water turns to steam and poof it's gone, transferred from the sauce into the atmosphere.

Cooking it removes the solvent, not the acid/base.

Lye is a base. If u extract DMT wrong, u can end up with lye in your DMT.

There's no reason you would get NaOH in DMT unless you're sloppy. The process is capable of completely isolating your product.

I hope the end result is large, not because it will help Clinton, but the larger her popular vote margin, the more absurd the electoral college system is revealed to be. When you start seeing numbers in the millions, it gets harder to justify that kind of disenfranchisement and the legitimacy of a system that would allow it.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not a Clinton supporter at all

That said I've always thought that the electoral college was ridiculous

It really should be by popular vote

I mean it's supposedly up to the people, right? Well isn't that what the popular vote would be all about?

Just count up the total votes for each candidate and whomever comes out on top in the end is president...pretty logical and straightforward, no?

Plus who knows how many people don't even vote simply due the fact that they're in a traditionally red or blue state...I hear it all the time in TX -- why vote? It doesn't matter because it's going to be a republican state anyway, right? I mean that's how a lot of people feel down here. And there's countless other people out there in other states who feel the same way -- that their vote doesn't matter.

If it was strictly by popular vote the turnout would be much, MUCH higher.

We're all US citizens in the end...just tally the votes up. All you gotta do. But naturally of course we gotta overthink shit and make things more complicated than they already are.

By the way didn't they start the idea of this electoral college shit back in the late 1700's?

u make a  good point, if all the people in the midwest, north and south voted (as did Trumps supporters), they could definitely sway the popular vote since theres still a ton of people in those areas.

And as u said, if the president was by popular vote, the vote really would count, since a president could win by just one vote.

"Eliminating the Electoral College does not even require a constitutional amendment. An effort known as The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is an agreement among several U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their respective electoral votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the overall popular vote. Once states totaling 270 electoral votes join the compact--which only requires passing state laws-- then the next presidential election will be determined the the popular vote, not the Electoral College.

As of November 9, 2016, ten states and the District of Columbia have signed the compact, totaling 165 electoral votes. So, we are already over 60% of the way there. If we can make this a national issue now, and if Democrats can do well at the state level in the 2018 midterm elections (which could happen under President Trump), then the winner of 2020 presidential election will be determined by popular vote."

There's a petition at the above website to abolish the electoral college.

you guys worry about the electoral vote not going to the one with the popular vote
but dont seem to give a shit about those votes actually going to the candidates
that were actually voted for. the entire bastardization of the system was when
states started the winner take all bullshit that awarded all the electors votes to
whom ever got the majority in each state. they still want to keep that piece of
corruption so they can try to sway the elections their way instead of having the
best candidate win.

BTW... in 2004, koods vote for president under this NPV system would have gone to
GW Bush because GW won the popular vote, as would everyone in the state of
california, imagine the landslide victory when those 10 states are forced to give
up their elector votes to someone the whole state disagrees with

seems like liberals love getting fucked in the ass massively hard

That seems to contradict your earlier claim that the states could use this to "try to sway the elections their way".

Ok, how can the states continue to try to "sway the elections their way" under this system if the law forces them to award their electoral college votes to the winner of the nationwide popular vote, even when the state's popular vote went the other way?
