Most people use direct/intense light, so you'll need a fixture if you decide to go that route. Buy one of the desk lamps that has a clamp and you can clamp it to the tub. Regarding the bulb itself, grab a 6500k daylight cfl. They're fairly cheap. I bought mine for like 11 bucks for a package of 3.
If you have a window that lets in a lot of light, that works too.

It doesn't need a super heavy amount of light just some. I run a 24 hours a day old fashion 40 watt bulb and most of the tubs are at angled 8 to 10 feet away. They fruit fine. Water evaporation and lack of food to expand is more important pin triggers

Well I'm getting the 6500k cfl two of them and I have a fairly small growing area. Two bulbs will light my whole area will that be fine?

get them as close to the tubs as you can. I'd fruit that tub now if it was mine. for best results, never listen to tump. or simply do the opposite of what he tells you to.

Incorrect. Yes to the cfl, yes to the 6500 kelvin. No to intense light, any bulb at 6500 in the room is generally recommended.

Jesus spacechildo.... You're god damn right... avoid Tump as if he was a herpes ridden hooker that wants to pay you for sex.
As far as fruiting your tub... Uh.... Yeah... Fruit that thing.
I understand that there is some controversy involved with introducing fruiting conditions after full colonization and introducing fruiting conditions at spawn.
I have "side-by-sided" these two different methods and the only difference between the two are even and uneven flushes... HOWEVER, fruiting conditions at spawn time led me to a faster harvest time (albeit with uneven flushes) than if I were to have introduced fruiting conditions after colonization...
I will NEVER go back to taping up my tubs. I've had tubs fully colonized on day 5 with pins on day 8... You just can't beat that type of time frame when you suffocate your mycelium.
People can flame me all they want-but I thoroughly believe that in the next 5-6 years- fruiting conditions introduced at spawn-time could very well be the norm.

it used to be the norm 10 yrs ago first monotub tek I ever read actually said to use MP tape at spawning. back in 08. fashions come and go in circles, if that makes sense.

Same weight-uneven flushes after flush 1 usually... especially with MS.
Who the fuck knows what a Ms tub will do after fruiting at spawn...lol
