Does anybody have a 12qt della electric pc? How many half pint, pint, and quart jars can you fit in it?
I'm thinking about buying one so I can keep my pc in my grow room. I'd much rather not pc my stuff in the kitchen, people in my house tend to not give a shit what other people are doing on the stove and I'd hate to have my pc moved around and risk not having it on the heat full time or a jar busting in it. Plus it would be nice to have everything I need to work with in one convenient area.

Yeah I'm guessing that would run me more than $130 which is about my price limit for now. I'm still very much a noob.

Good point, I'll see if I still have my camp stove in storage. It should be big enough.

Yeah that was my first choice before I saw that della, but if it's too small for grain spawn then I'm not gonna waste my money on it. If I ever get to the point where the 23 qt presto is too small then I'll start looking into AA. I just really wish I knew someone who has a pc they don't use anymore, I don't like spending my hard earned money.

I completely agree but my budget is severely limited right now. If I had the money I'd be ordering top dollar equipment, but for the time being I have to make do with what I can get

Yeah I'm impatient when it comes to starting up, but I have plenty of patience when it comes to the actually growing. I have 5 BRF bags going right now, one is fully colonized and consolidated and just got put into fruiting conditions yesterday

I have a 16qt. Presto (lighter in weight 7 qts each time) with a 1500wat electric burner and it's nice. Both can be had for around $100 if you shop around.
I'm not a fan of all in one units. If the heating element goes out your out a pressure cooker as well. With a Pc you can use your stove or single burners.

I had friends and family constantly pestering me about growing a batch and they think they know everything so I bought the bags on their request. I'm surprised they haven't stalled, they're actually doing a whole lot better than I expected. Plus there was some crack head in my town that got a pretty bad ass few flushes from some bags and if some strung out dope whore can grow some good cubes figured I could too. There are other reasons but mainly that, at least if I get a few good fruits I'll have a spore bank to work from when I get a pc and start doing agar.
As far as the getting the pc, I've been shopping and researching for months trying to get the most out of my money. I'll have it all sorted out eventually.
So those 1500w hotplates are big enough to heat up a pc evenly? I was afraid they wouldn't be big enough for a good sized pc.

Well I don't have a gas stove to begin with so it probably wouldn't take much longer than my stove would.

Guess I should've named this thread general pc questions, would a 900w hotplate be enough to properly heat up a 16qt pc?

It'll take a while but I think it would. Start with warm water but not too hot that you Crack the jars. Myou hotplates is old school with no overheat safety shut off and it does it just fine.
Mine is a dual burner 1500 watt and I use the largest of the two burners.

I was certain the 1500w burner would work, 900w just seemed a little low and that's all they have at my Wal-Mart, but it's only like $10 so if it doesn't work it's not like it would hurt my feelings, I'm just sick of paying shipping because I live in bum fucked egypt and no stores have anything I need except grain, there are grains a plenty here lol
