Doesn't matter. It's Obama's own words as an argument for not appointing someone on the merit that they are president and allowed to.
I personally find it bad that they aren't, but if Obama has argued against it then I believe it's warranted until both sides get their heads out of their asses. Doesn't happen unless they are in control typically, and then they have their heads in other people's asses instead.

If the election was so close, why didn't Hillary contest it and at least demand a re-count in partial states? People don't vote for the president, they vote for their electors, who then vote for the president. This is in the constitution. No one but you and the radical millennials destroying the their own liberal cities is even questioning the legitimacy of presidency.
People are "lecturing" you because argument is fundamentally flawed and you are so partisan that you are blind to any opposing view. If the electoral college wasn't in place, then the candidates would have campaign entirely different. It would totally change the strategy of the race. If the college didn't exist, places like Wyoming, Montana, southern sates (slave states, ), or any state with a low population), would get no representation to elections. Candidates would have no reason to campaign in places outside NYC, LA largest population centers, and college campuses. Rather than working to gather votes from as many demographics from the largest percentage of land as possible, it would be a mere popularity contest for urban dwellers and college students that made the decisions for 90% of the country (by land mass). The issues, desires, and priorities of rural communities are entirely different from people living in dense urban areas.
You remember how ridiculous you thought people sounded that would bring up the birther argument for Obama challenging his presidency based on his birth certificate? Yeah, you sound even more ridiculous than that claiming the election isn't legitimate when Hillary, Obama, Bernie, and the rest of the Democratic leadership ALL universally recognize his win.
But keep whining and complaining. Hopefully 8 years from now you'll begin to start to feel the pain the other half of the country that don't align with your narrow minded views.

That argument about the electoral college system is a joke. It doesn't make the candidates pay attention to the small states. It makes them pay attention to the battleground states. Montana and Wyoming haven't seen a presidential candidate IN DECADES. Neither has California or New York.
You can make the argument that is what the electoral college is meant to do, but look at what it actually does and you can only conclude that it is an absolute failure.
And it's not the other half, it's 47%

Lol, you are wrong much more than you are correct.
Trump visited Billings, MT on 5-26-16.
He also help rallies in Northern CO in small towns, one right outside WY. He also went to Indiana and bunch of other consistently red state with low electoral votes. Which of course if how he legitimately won the election.

There's a big difference between the primary race and the general election.

I could see that argument, but this was nearing the end of the primaries. By that point he was very much campaigning for the general and pretty much had the primaries in the bag. But since the other republicans wouldn't concede he had to ride it out to the convention. But he was very much campaigning to broaden his base at that time.

This attitude grossly adopted almost universally by far left extremist is why you lost the election.
Why we lost the electoral college. Our point of view actually prevailed with the people. I'm just not going to sit here and be lectured by people who came in second place. This is what your going to get for the next four years. This is what happens where your leader is not legitimate.
OUR President, yours and mine is completely legitimate. You just lack enough spine to admit it.
President Trump. Sticks in your craw and chaps your ass, yet it is what it is.
Look, while it's good Hillary lost, it sucks that Trump won. As a country we should have had more pride than to give either the nod. But we did. The rules make it clear... he is koods President too.

within 3 days of his being elected:
1. Russia and Syria have publicly announced wanting peace with the U.S.
2. Israel's Prime Minister announced that they want to repair the damaged relationship between them and the U.S.
3. DOW closed at an all-time high.
4. Canada and Mexico have announced they are willing to renegotiate NAFTA with the U.S.
it would seem that trump is already making america great again
