Question about invitro

I was wondering if it was possible to transfer cakes from an SGFC back into a mason jar after the first flush and fruit them invitro for the later flushes? I'm concerned that I will only be able to get one flush out of my cakes due to the timing of winter break, so having them fruiting invitro would be convenient for transportation and such.

Transporting that is a BAD BAD BAD idea! That would mean you are traveling with an active grow. That is an active crime. a class X felony and some REAL jail time. DO NOT DO IT!

Yeah, that is true, it isn't a very long distance though, and a bunch of mason jars are fairly easy to conceal, so I figure that the risk isn't that high. The other option would be switching to invitro and concealing it in my apartment while I'm gone.

I take it they are in a shot gun fruiting chamber now? How long will you be away from them?

Winter break lasts for about a month, but I will be able to come back to my apartment several times during that month. And yes, they are in an SGFC now.

Ok from what some of the pros said the other day, on a post about time away from the grow. You need a nice deep amount of perlite in there, I assume you have that 4-6 inch depth. They were saying that you can leave them for a week or so and that it is fairly "set it and forget it" for short periods of time. With enough perlite, a proper made SGFC, and a good dunk before you leave they should be ok until you come back.
From what some of our more experienced growers have posted, that perlite should have enough moisture for like a month. Now that doesn't mean skip misting while your there. Keep tabs on how moist the perlite is but you should be ok to leave them in your SGFC. Being around at the right time for harvest will probably be your biggest issue.
Yield may drop some but they should not die on you, unless contamination get into a cake.

The main concern I have is about leaving a fruiting chamber unattended in my apartment for a month and the possibility of any inspections or maintenance during that time. If I were to have them in jars, they would be much easier to conceal.

Could use some 2ltr pop bottles and milk jugs and make some small fruiting chambers to hide around apt. The problem with going back to invitro at this point is that your cakes have been able to fruit from all sides up to this point. When you shove it back into your jars it will most likely want to fruit from sides still. You will end up with a big mess. Usually when you go invitro you case the top and this keeps fae off the sides and you don't have much issue with fruits on the side. If you look at invitro pics they have cased the jar and manipulated the substrate so it only fruits from the opening. You are likely to stress your cakes
