casing not pinning
    #23813732 - 11/08/16 06:55 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

I couldn't upload my photos the other day to allow anyone to properly help figure out why my healthy myc is withering away soon after coming through the casing soil. So... I made a free website and uploaded all the photos and a detailed description of my problem. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. Here's the link to my very own brand new personal shroom blog.

cool blog.  I think the second pic looks almost moldy in the center, or it's just really faint mycelium.  Did you pack your substrate or casing accidentally?  If so you'll see a drastic increase in colonization and fruiting time.

Don't case again, and fae could very well be a problem.

Not clicking. ....sounds like soaked casing issues. But that's a long shot in the dark with very little info:lolsy:

Thanks for the reply. Ya, there's no mycelium coming through in the middle really at all. I did pack the substrate down and into the corners fairly tightly as that was what the kit instructions said to do. Their instructions said that if there is too much air space between the straw substrate that it is hard for it to colonize. And the straw was fully colonized on day 8, not after 12 days like they said. I waited 12 days to case though just to follow the instructions. But with the casing soil, I did not pack it down at all as they said not to. Could I have also over misted it? Is it ok to allow a little air to get in all the time?

Your first error was the kit.
I would recommend looking into diy growing, more control, better flushes....
I've read these forums for a few years now and have had many very successful grows based on the solid teks from these boards.
Best wishes on your grow
