Puffball? Edible?
    #23810155 - 11/07/16 04:19 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Found this in my yard right next to pine tree line, I have 5 acres in Southern Ohio with a lot of pines. I mowed over it on accident with the rider but it is mostly intact.

It is white throughout, and squishy.

Definitely looks like a puffball to me. So far as I am aware, all puffballs with pure white interiors and thin, easily cut skins are edible (apart from, maybe, Calvatia fumosa, which has an unpleasant smell). I've eaten several puffballs over the past two years with no problems.

Ok cool. It is still in the fridge, I'll check it out and fry it up tomorrow.
