Just wanted to throw my two cents into this thread. Was that 12 zips of blobs just on the first flush? How is/did the subsequent flushes look?
Also, for those that have come to this thread looking for advice on being in a similar situation: I've run about 40 tubs of PE so far, and almost all have started out exactly like this one. Lots of that weird looking knotting at the beginning, then tons of blobs that cover the entire substrate floor. Typically, the second and third flushes (I never usually get four) have far less if any blobs, and yield very large, very dense fruits. A few days ago, a second flush single PE fruit was as big as a freaking old school telephone receiver! It measured out 0.34oz dry on its own.
3P - what do you use for your PE substrates? I always use coir/verm due to its easy Amazon deliverability and ease of 5050 bucket tek technique. I also use Azur's fruiting conditions at spawn technique. Wonder if I would have less blobbing if I were to use HPOO and a different casing layer. I simply use a toplayer of coir/verm right at spawning.

Subs are just c/v/g and fruited at spawning. 12 zips were first flush but from 2 tubs. One 7oz and the other 5oz. 1 tub tamd out during 2nd flush and got tossed right away. The other tub produced 6.5oz 2nd flush of mostly normal looking fruits but blob mix then tossed out and replaced with new sub.

Damn, those are really impressive numbers. I typically see yields of 3oz dry on my first flushes.
I am currently working from a clone that I took from a cluster of normal PE fruits. However, I didn't isolate it really. I simply took the sample, dropped it on agar, did one transfer and then used it to colonize my jars.
What are you using to inoculate your jars? Do you think if I did more transfers i would get better results?
Not really too sure on the benefits of multiple transfers to go for a monoculture, etc.
Any help is appreciated:)

I inoculate masters jars of wheat berries with Agar wedges. When I cloned I took a few samples from each fruit and put them to Agar. Then from each plate I took a few transfers of the best looking growth from each of those plates. Repeated this process for 4 total transfers. I then had like 35-40 plates I let grow out and kept the fastest best looking ones and tossed the others. I was then left with with about 15 plates worth of several different clones. Took some tranfers from those plates and slanted them. Half those plates got stored in the fridge, the other half I took and made a bunch of master jars and expanded them by g2g.
The reason I made I made several plates of each clone tissue is because even though it's a clone you still have many genetics at play. I'm currently testing like 4-5 different cultures with different growth parameters to see which type of environment/recipe works best. Gonna be quite a long process but it will worth it in the end.

That's great information man. Thanks so much. I have a really nice cluster going on in one of my tubs right now that I think I will clone today.
Cheers!
