Who here has watched West World? I've been very impressed with it so far, very impressed.
It's only 6 episodes into the series and it's already shaping up to be my second favorite show, Only second to Game of Thrones.
If you haven't watched it check out the trailer, it can explain things much better than I.
If you have watched it and are up to date I've got some serious talk to lay down with you.
Spoilers beyond this point. BEWARE!
Ok guys, let's talk about the multiple time line theory. For a while now, many fans, myself included have believe this story is taking place in two separate time lines. With one story line, the man in black story line taking place in "present day" and the story with William and Logan taking place 30 years earlier during the early years of the park. Fans of this theory believe that William is in fact the Man in Black, after 30 years of unrestricted access to the park. Clues that point to this includes Logan and Williams conversation about the park hemorrhaging, and their company possibly buying them out. This conversation almost difinitavly proves the two timeline theory. Other clues include the man in blacks dialogue with Deloras, saying, "Is that anyway to treat an old friend." Another subtle but pretty damning hint is the fact both William and the MiB have the same baby blue eye color.
This story is all fine and dandy, but it got me thinking about the possibility of more timelines than just the two. With the "Bernard is Arnold as a host" being almost all but confirmed, with the discovery Benard Lowe is an acronym for Arnold Weber; I started to wonder just how exactly could we tell the difference between Benard and Arnold? The answer I chose was the simplest one, we couldn't. Because of this I believe the story takes place on THREE seprate timelines, And that the clothed interviews with Benard and Deloras are in fact interviews between Arnold and Deloras. I was re watching the series with this in mind and everything makes so much more sense. An example from episode one is when Abernathy is being interviewed by Ford and Bernard, Abernathy says "you both" to Ford and Benard implying he knew who Benard was too. Just goodbye for thought, what do you guys think? Prove me wrong!

I couldn't get into it till I saw ep. 6 last night. It's obviously inspired by Philip K. Dick and valentinian gnosticism.

Yeah I am a fan. Only watched the first episode and a part of one or two others, but when I get some free time I will probably binge it out. I tend to enjoy shows better in binge form anyway. I hate to get all psyched up then have to wait a week.

I think so far they seem valid, the wife and I are going to marathon all of the episodes again today and watch for the clues closer, so I will be back later with a more thorough analysis on the theories Also, not very often do I rewatch episodes this early, it's just so good!
