They are the same price as a food dehydrator and will definitely not be as effective. I'm going to guess no

I have been using a philips airfryer on its lowest setting lately. It needs a mesh put over the shrooms otherwise when they begin to dry and get lighter they blow all over the place. I have used fan heaters too and they worked reasonably well.

Interesting, How long does it take for the fruits to get Cracker-Dry in an Air Fryer?

Not for me, but nonetheless, thats pretty cool!
These small dehydrators just take sooooo long! Does those heaters dry them out quicker, or is it basically about the same-ish?

Last ones I put them on for 30mins at about 100C, but the time will depend on the amount used, mine are not cracker dry, I finish them off in a chamber with calcium chloride. I guess they could get cracker dry though.
Mad Seasons link is basically how to make a cheap larger version of a commercial dehydrator. They can run at the exact same temperature but at lower power, due to having a much smaller chamber to heat.
I am not recommending people get a airfryer for drying by the way, I happen to have one so use it. In saying that many seem to think high temps are not much of an issue, and most dehydrators might not get as hot as they would ideally wish for.
