I'm not trying to act high and mighty, I know I shouldn't have considered it as an option either and I'm shitty for tempting it. Everyone just expected him to call out someone's name that isn't doing the right thing. Nashville is hot with CIs right now and everyone was expecting him to snitch on some of the shit head people in the area that rob people and snitch on others. I have less respect for people that steal than those who snitch, but that is my opinion.

I just met with the dean of students and he said I'm likely to be suspended if I'm charged with distribution even if it gets dropped to a misdemeanor

It is fine don't think about snitching. Get a job and earn money if you have to take a semester off school. Big fuckin deal. It's a few months. They will reduce your charges. What have you done to get ready for your court stuff as apposed to hyping yourself negatively

My YSO just called me and said that the dean has no way of knowing my charges bc it's confidential under juvenile court so he just tricked me into telling him the charges

They do that to scare you, which worked, they'll reduce the charges to probation and some fines/classes I'm sure. Less you say the better.

#1 rule of crime: DON'T TALK!
Regardless of who it is; friends, fuckbuddies, cops, judges, just DON'T TALK in any scenario. It'll always get you in more shit in the long run.
Thousands of 60+yr old dope dealers who've been going for decades will agree.
During dealings, streamline the language you use so it can be over & done with as few minimally-incriminating words as possible. If someone starts getting talkative, using your name and saying the drug or amount of cash specifically during a deal that they normally were sensible during, then it's time to lock the ship down.
Cops are not your friends, and the deals they promise you are lies; judges are the ones that make that call.
Cops at the door? Don't answer it. If they're knocking then they don't have a warrant; if they have a warrant then they're not knocking, they're kicking your door down.
And NEVER snitch, even if it's a retaliation snitching on another snitch; "two wrongs don't make a right".
If YOU get busted, then it's YOUR own fault. The other guy (assuming he's not the snitch) was just doing his job safely; he shouldn't have to suffer for someone else's stupidity or bad luck.
If you wanna retaliate just wait a while, then fuck him up nice and slow under the cover of darkness; then fuck his girlfriend and record it for his viewing pleasure while he's in the ICU. Or burn his house down.
Or, ya know, "live and let live" if you're nonconfrontational.

I finally got a hold of my lawyer as the one I was talking to was in a different county so he was trying to set us up with someone in the county I'm being charged in. He sounded very optimistic and was telling me that I'm very unlikely to go back to jail as the goal for juvenile courts is to rehabilitate instead of punish.
He also told me he could fight the meeting with the dean. He said since I am a minor in this case, that the way the dean got me to tell him the charge is considered coercion and it is illegal to coerce a juvenile into telling information. When I meet with him hopefully he will give me more insight as to how the situation will unfold.

I have a very close pal who used to grow cannabis commercially in a scary ass state. He made tons of money and had a great life for himself, his family and those around him. No guns, no stupid gangbanger nig nog bullshit, just pushing out pounds.
His brother in law who did work for him slipped up and told this younger cat that dude was a farmer. Young dude told my pal he also used to grow and made up some elaborate, well put together take of a secret room him and his buddy had built to grow. So my buddy took him under his wing as an apprentice and taught him the right way to grow quantity.
Well, this young man got pulled over with misdemeanor charges, didn't want to take the probation like a man, so he rolled.
Dude got his door kicked in after 15+ years of sucsessful gardening without a hitch. It was his first major charge so he caught a 180 and 5 years intensive probation.
Thing is, when the searched my buddies house they found a couple names and numbers on caller ID and in turn popped a REAL gangster. Said real gangster had this kid and his whole family whacked and his parents house and cars burned.
Point is, you are obviously a shitty dealer and have loose lips, don't wind up dead and have your friends/family lives ruined because you are a little twat waffle kiddo.
Take your charges, learn your lesson, get a fucking job as you obviously suck at selling drugs and move on.
The fact that you are airing out your personal here speaks volumes to begin with. Close your mouth and grow up.

Surely a confidential informant/grass telling the police you sold him something, is purely hearsay in a court of law. Anyone can make up any old shit and tell it to the police to try to get someone into trouble with the law. Could you not make a counterclaim of purgery by the CI? That he has maliciously grassed you for something that never happened?
I think a lot of the time the police will be relying on a confession to be able to charge a person. You can't convict someone with no evidence.

if the option to cooperate with police in exchange for immunity is there then take it.
if you have a successful future ahead of you dont be stupid. Your livelyhood (and possible earning income that will affect your entire future and potential families quality of life) is far more important than some fuckhead loser who is probably going to spend time in jail/prison anyway, regardless
