So I am about to make some bulk substrate to mix with my Rye Berries as well as a few BRF Cakes that I wanted to try and spawn to bulk and was wanting to know if you guys thought that this combination would be okay...
These are the ingredients I have and was looking for some direction on which of them you all suggest I use and what percentages of each or Ratio per Quart Jar of Grain or 1/2 Pint BRF
1 Brick Coir
Vermiculite
Gypsum (I have noticed in other teks that people have this powdered Dry Wall Gypsum and the Gypsum I got from the Gardening Department at Lowe's is this Giant 25 lb bag and they are like little pebbles.. Is this okay?)
Worm Casing's
And I could make some coffee and have Used Coffee Grounds
Do you think that having no straw or hpoo/Cpoo is that big of a deal and should I just stick to the simple Verm/Coir method??
Let me know!
Thanks

Worm castings aren't going to do much for you. I would end the list at gypsum. Crush the gypsum pebbles into a fine powder.
Throw: 1 brick of coir 2 quarts verm Into a 5 gallon bucket and then
Pour 4.5 quarts boiling water 1 cup gypsum Into the bucket
Put a lid on and mix the ingredients really well once it cools down. I like to put gloves on and mix it all by hand breaking up any chunks in the coir and pulling out any questionable things I may find.

I'd leave the worm casings and coffee grounds out. Coffee is tricky and because it gets sterilized, it often molds fairly quickly. Worm castings are used more in casing layers, I believe.
