"Ghost" mycelium?

I can't get a good pic because I'm using pasty plates. But I'm gonna try to explain this the best a can to paint a picture.
Imagine an agar wedge from a colonizes plate dropped right in the center of a new agar plate. Now, around the size of a 50 cent piece from the center of that transferred agar wedge, is completely clear. No noticeable growth. Now, after that 50 cent sizes circle, is crazy rhizo growth. Almost like an outer circle of crazy healthy growth, followed by an inner circle of nothing, and then a little agar wedge right smack in the middle.
I made 7 dishes from a fully colonizes agar dish and they ALL are doing this. The crazy thing is, that putter ring on all of them is a perfect circle, all growing in unison like you would see in an isolation.
Are there any thoughts about this? Does everybody understand what I'm saying. I don't want to open it to take pics of I don't have to because they're not 100% colonized yet...probably like 75%. No signs of bacteria/contaminate that I can see. It's like they all jumped ship from the agar wedge, pushed out a half inch all around, and then started to grow.

A lot of times, I get a nearly invisible bit of growth right around the outer edge of the mycelium growth, but nothing like you're talking about.
Intersted to hear what thw more experienced people have to say on it tho.

Geez, sorry, just trying to narrow it down.
Maybe the mycelium was developing a "taste" for the new medium (if it were different) before it got rolling...?

Lol, didn't mean to come across as a dick. I was just trying to say it wasn't close. Reading back now it did sound harsh. My bad. Wasn't my intentions. And yes, it was a different media, DFA. You could be on to something. I took a pic of one, not the best example of what I'm talking about but gives an idea. I took a gamble a snapped a pic in my SAB...except I didn't prep my SAB before opening t for the pic. Good thing it was just one dish.

Yeah, I mean it's there...but weird. All my dishes have been transparent mycelium lately. I just recently put some to the mono and it looks crazy healthy. But the agar was transparent, the grains was transparent, coir...looking decent.

It's normal. You're just seeing the leading edge. Shows more in some phenos than others.

I thought it was crazy. All my dishes I have done completely covered the agar. Even my weak, transparent growth. It is definitely strange to see a mixture of the 2 in one dish. I think I'm gonna transfer the outer edges.

Okay I mean, without pics, it could plausibly be something else, but if you're seeing what I think you're seeing then it's fine.

On a side note: I transferred some crazy anastomosis to an agar dish and have a pin growing on that fucker...I'll definitely be cloning that. I wonder what the end result is gonna be. I'm pretty excited.

In the pic, you can see some light growth in that inner circle. That's how mine usually look along the leading edge. Not completely invisible, but close.

Oh, fuck, I dunno how I missed that. Yeah that shit isn't uh... I wouldn't transfer that. Definitely not the invisible leading edge.

I'd have to know exactly what it is to know what it isn't so naturally that sentence trailed off... Good luck with those though.
