Just got to keep on doing good and ignore/sidestep the idiots. Don't bother wasting energy on them, just walk away. (unless there is some info to be gleaned, sometimes it happens)

Yeah this sums up it up pretty well. Also shitty parents relying on a shitty educational system.

We can';t fully blame parents as many people work full schedules and don't have the time to be super hands on. Clearly tons of parents are grossly incompetent though.

You don't know what you're talking about, usually kids from working class families have better work ethics. They know they don't have an infinite number of chances to fuck up and live without a paycheck. Struggle is what gives people the drive to become successful.

Think about it like a dog who is on a mission to find food. A dog who is hungry is going to be far more eager and work a lot harder to find a food source than a dog who is well-fed. The same is true of human nature. That's why police dogs are always kept half-hungry while they are working, they are never given a full meal.

I guarantee you a lot of those kids from OP's post who never showed up for their work shifts are from middle class or even upper-middle class suburban families.

Isn't about working class

Its about *trash* class

The kinds of people who are pregnant at 16 with a  dude who she dislikes or fights with nonstop

If you ever lived in the ghetto you would see the pandemic I'm talking about

Also there is plenty of variants that could contribute to a sorry ass 18yo

Oh okay, I guess when you said "Who reproduce when they can't comfortably raise a child financially," I assumed you were also including pretty much everybody who is working class, blue collar, or making below $40,000 a year. Because the truth is all these families are struggling to raise children financially.

And in fact, I'd even venture to say that somebody raising a child on $27,000 is probably struggling a lot more than a hoodrat who is only making $8,000 a year. Because at least the latter person gets free medical insurance and EBT and all this assistance, they also don't get taxed on income at all. Whereas the person making $27,000 ends up with maybe $1500 a month after taxes, just barely makes above the minimum to apply for these programs and is struggling a hell of a lot to raise kids.

I did that all summer. In Montana. House Remodling, land surveying, the list goes on and on. I learned a lot and am qualified enough that I didn't work for under 15.

That being said they drove me nuts. They're fucking old assholes. I work hard as it's something that I truly enjoy. Being useful. I don't know how to do this but show me once and I'll get the jist and replicate.

I couldn't stand them. What are you fucking stupid?!? You got some nuts between your legs?!? I have tons of hilarious catch phrases from older Montana dudes.

Well fuck I've never done this before care to show me what the fuck your talking about. OK now I see what you mean.

One of my best friends is who I lived with. It has been a running joke as his dad told him when he went off to college. "you have been nothing but a disappointment"

He's an excellent carpenter, state champ wrestler, all around great guy. One da his dad did compliment his landscaping skills. I stopped wow. I think that's the closest your father will ever get to saying I love you.

"I know"

For some reason I get along real well with bitter old men.  I don't think it has anything to do with being qualified it's more just showing up and not being a baby.  I see how bad other people get it, so maybe my advice isn't that good for everyone.  I guess the bitterness is rubbing off on me.  Just try to find a job that doesn't make you miserable.

Ya exactly. As do I. I work hard. I built trusses for a month as I did the dudes yard and that shit was amazing. And it was a shit show when he offered me the work. Landscaping is something I do enjoy.

I was very proud of it. So hired me on at the truss plant. Got bored of that. Did some landscaping for another older guy surveyed for a month. Just picking up skills. Montana has work for anybody that's willing to do it. I had to turn down work just to have a day off. Fuck I'm tired. Than I started spray painting. We did a semi that has been making the rounds. Awesome I definitely enjoy this.

Just got back to Washington. First step find work. Next step I have a garage set up a paint studio. He made 15 grand doing that. Took us 5 days. I made pretty good money as well. I got to be apart of it. There's an awesome time lapse video I'd look up if your interested. As the other side is completely different.

That's one thing I can pride myself on. I grew up poor. Doesn't really matter what I do I want to be the best. I work hard for what little I have. It's one thing my parents did teach me was a hard days work for an honest days pay.

In Alaska it wasn't the poor kids that would steal. It was the rich kids. They have no concept of a dollar. Or earning anything for themselves.

I constantly turn in valuable things that people misplace at work or in general. Way nicer than my shit but it isn't mine. I didn't earn this. So I don't want it. Someday.

My job brings new employees in through temp agencies. Most of these people are young guys. We would go through dozens without finding 1 with any work ethic at all. Most of these people are coming out of work release and just sign up to because they have to.

In my experience, retail, fast food, and companies who use temp agencies, have the most worthless workforce in the country.

Most of the old people at my job arent lazy... Just dull. They don't know how to, or even think to, do anything more than they normally do.

There's a few that work really hard and can do almost anything in their line but they are stern and can come off rude. But with the people who work here I don't blame them. I'm becoming alot like them tbh. If you're stupid I'm not going to put alot of effort into you. If you're lazy I'm not going to put alot of work into you. The bright kids here either find work outside work to do, to make the shitty department better, and wisely move out when they can.

Management enables this shit. There's only so many times you can try to improve production and work and told to stop and focus on the same work in a faulty stream that hires more workers than we need (significantly more) bc theres 5 people per 20 that actually do more than repetitive motions and care about the quality of their work and care aboout doing more than scraping by.

I'm one of these young folk that plans to move on soon. Office politics being more important than actual work is stupid and I won't abide by it.
