I'm well into my 40s man, and I agree wholeheartedly.  Yes, young people tend to have less ambition, work ethic or drive as a rule.  I was there not to terribly long ago, us 70s kids were spoiled to the gills man.  I worked in food service, worked up to running restaurants in a nice vacation area, where I met my beautiful wife.  We had people pass out in the deep freeze and nearly die doing whip it's, cutting off fingers on meat sliders after a few to many drinks, and were constantly ripped out of our stupid gourds.  But in restaurants you gotta move, or you're out.  I'd like to think I took a lot from my experience as far as that is concerned.
I have two teens, they just moved out (hoooo fucking ray!) so I am well aware of our next generation between the work place and my own.  I must say the kids today are some lazy, entitled little shits!
I could not tell you how many times I changed the wifi pass over the past couple of years bc these kids could simply not make time to help around the house while mom n dad are out earning cash for bills.
I seriously blame technology.  It could be a good thing we will adapt to it, but for today's world it's tough for all of us to adjust.  I remember going to the store, renting the big ass VCR, then the movies and candy, it took some planning and time, now we watch movies on our hand held devices in HD lol.  I thought I was hot shit to have a pager back in the day.
I love my kids and all the young folks I work with and they know I'd do anything within reason for them.  But I promise you, on a weekend breakfast my 65 year old sous her, myself, a dishwasher and a bartender will out run a full staff of 8-10.
It's just true, and I can't blame young people.  I thought my generation was entitled..... shit.
Cheerio

Probably not.
My daughters pal had her mom arrested and lost her job of over ten years because this young lady, at 16 years old decided she did not want to do dishes after her mother worked all day, then cooked her a real meal.  She decided to throw a plate at her mom, her mom slapped her punk ass, daughter filed charges.  A mutual friend is a lawyer and took the case.  Because when asked if she slapped the child the mother gave a resounding "Yes, she threw a glass plate at my head" to the officer the lawyer could do nothing.
This is cultural, weaker and weaker family ties and little respect for anything, say nothing of elders.
The mom now works for a shit wage and lost her home because of an entitled brat.  I hear it all the time from younger people "I'll call the cops"
If I would have said that and called the police would have laughed.
Our world is going to hell in a hand basket and the only people who can save it care more about brad and Angelina than the human rights atrocities occurring world wide.
Sad story :frown:

I don't think anybody cares about Angelina or brad Pitt. Get real. You're so edgy and stuck in your ignorant old man perspective, you're a kook.

I'm not even old, but you ARE young and angry, it's funny to me, seriously.
I would not expect a youngster to know what good parenting is though, I forgive you for calling me names on a website as well,I love ya man.
Double posting..... I really did upset you huh?
I'm sorry, perhaps it was the taste of my retired, I own my own home and have no debt flavored coffee that got me edgy :-)
Go vote man, have an awesome day.

he's a shitty lawyer

1. the act was self defense which is valid even involving children
2. confessions are frequently deemed as inadmissible in court

Did you learn those things about the law on SVU or Criminal Intent?  :-)
I know he does quite well Prisoner, so I assume you incorrect. I also know he's a well educated man.
Judging only by your your name, however, you must know a few shit lawyers.
I'm sure he would be devastated to learn that you have a low opinion of him.  Especially considering it being based on your second hand judgement from behind a keyboard.
Lots of angry youth today, must be the stress of the election.
You guys take your interneting serious around here, that's pretty obvious.  Haha

What are you a machine operator?

My bosses tell me that there is a slowdown because of the election :shakefist: I knew that was just an excuse to stinge on overtime.

They did just give me a raise after announcing the slowdown, plus I still get overtime  it is slow but I am not lazy.  You don't even have to work super hard these days to get ahead, just show up and do your job without complaining.  Thanks kids these days, you're making an underachiever like me look great.

My wife says the exact same thing....
All she has to do is show up on time everyday, do her job, nothing extra and she gets promotions and raises.

My generation is the biggest bunch of fucking lazy retards, I swear. I recently took a seasonal job at target to make a little extra cash and of course I'm working with mostly teenagers and early 20s. The team I'm on unloads the truck and puts shit on the shelves 4 times a week, easiest job I've ever had. In the past 2 weeks they've fired 7 people for not showing up on time and being lazy and slow as fuck in general. Like if you didn't want to work why did you take the job? Go back to mommys basement.

Ive heard people talk shit about my generation of course, but I've never really had to work with anyone my own age. Is it just that retail jobs attract all the idiots or has most of this generation really been brought up with no work ethic whatsoever? It worries me to think what the next generation will be like with this generation raising them.

People pretty much treat retail jobs like garbage because they are the easiest jobs to get, and you can always get another one easily if you get fired.

Also if you have too much work experience or education managers will deny you for being overqualified, instead they prefer to hire teenagers so they can pay them $8 an hour or whatever.

Not to mention how politically correct this world is becoming

Up until I started getting out and away from my dysfunctional family I was coddled,  anxious  lazy and sorry

I used to be pathetic,  til I grew up and learned all my lessons the the hard way, but at last I learned them at 20
