Retail does attract the worst people, as its the most blatant type of job in sight for people who don't have any unique skills. Shits sad man.

There probably have been similiar demographics for decades of lazy young burnouts but it certainly has become worse it seems.

The thing is the exceptions to every generation make the world go round.  Just work hard and try to be honest and in another 10 years you will gain the right to complain about the younger generations, even though your contemporaries are the real problem.

Also get a man's job with some old timers.  That is the way things are meant to be.  Don't do bitch work like retail it will only drive you nuts.  I hate to be harsh like that but it's the way it is.

It makes sense to test how little effort you can put in and still get paid at a job like that. like, why exert more energy than you have to bra? :rasta: you can get a minimum wage job anywhere.

If you are a good worker with shipping and receiving experience you can do better than stocking shelves for shit money at Target.  They were paying $1.50 above minimum wage when I was there and while it was easy work, it wasn't a job I really gave a shit about keeping.  You can't expect to fine competent workers while paying shit money.  My suggestion to you would be to find something better if you consider yourself a good worker.  There are companies that actually value that, and Target isn't one of them.

Man when latino bodies work they work me right hard.  Round here we got mostly islanders but I got nothing to complain about.  I'm not gay tho so maybe I don't get what you're saying.

It's hard to find people that will work as hard as you do, assuming you're the one working hard.

It sucks because if you're the one willing to do whatever is asked of you, and do a good job of doing it, then people you work with will try to take advantage of that fact, and be lazy.

Happened at the last job I was at, I would keep on truckin with whatever I was doing, and always stayed busy, but when I caught wind of people taking advantage of my good work ethic, I left.

Did they take credit for your work or just do less knowing you would pick up the slack? Should have gotten them fired but I guess you probably did in the long run

i work in a place with temps and a lot of temps, and its a similar story.

Some of the younger generation are super lazy, and just wanna goof off most the time. Not all of them, but a signifigant amount.

But i would argue that most young people are just irresponsible and like to goof off, i think its more of an age thing than a generational shitty work ethic thing.

i definitely like the older crowd, they know how to get things done.

Im guessing the "spoiled generation" is catching up with them. I was pretty spoiled as a kid, but i came out with pretty good work ethic so maybe there is hope.

I think maturity comes with age and living by yourself vs living at home. Thats my view on it.

But i dont get too many teenagers thou. I am going to hold off judgement for a little bit untill i collect more evidence.
