    #23806381 - 11/06/16 12:26 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I found these little guys at my work and was wondering what they were. Any help is appreciated!

Habitat:
Growing out of plastic pot that contains a Japanese Maple. Not sure if growing from woody substrate or from roots of maple.

Gills:
Woody brown, attached (adnate?), gills
Stem:
2-3 inches long, 1/4 inch diameter, light brown, crunchy but soft, hollow

Cap:
1 1/2 inches, liggt brown center getting darker towards edges, smooth, spherical, concave

Spore print color:
[Wip] will post when finished

Bruising:
Not noticible/darker brown

Other information:
It smells fairly earthy for a mushroom

Awesome, thank you! If it is a Agrocybe sp. i think it might be Agrocybe Acericola. Those are found in rich soil near maple trees. (I'm not sure if Japanese Maples count too but they are in the genus "Acer")

With further research it seems as though acericola isn't fully accepted as it's own species. Would it then be Agrocybe praecox var. Acericola?
