WHY DOES MY PC NOT GO BEYOND 14PSI?

Hi, I have a very sad story.
I was using a Presto with great success for many, many years. It seems after I moved to a new apartment (both in Brooklyn, NY; 2nd flr. to 4th flr. (presumably minimal change in altitude)), my pressure cooker stopped going to 15psi. I proceeded to buy a new Presto, but it was doing the same thing. I couldn't figure out what the issue was, so I bought an All-American, hoping all of my problems would go away, but it seems to not go to 15psi:

The weight usually goes crazy before 15 psi so it seems unrelated to my heating source. Any ideas why this might happen? Thanks.

thats odd. what kind of stove? how much water?. AA pcs are the shit. unless you live on the top floor of the Burj Khalifa i dont think altitude is the issue.

I have the same issue. Never had problems at 14 psi.
The same 15 psi pressure cooker will cook 15 psi in San Francisco, California (sea level) but only 12.5 psi in Denver, Colorado (5,000 feet). Now, “standard pressure cooker” has become “non-standard” in Denver. This means that the recipes will need the same timing adjustments used for non-standard pressure cookers (see pie chart, above).

The gauge could be off, if the weight is rattling it's at 15 PSI though. The Wafco/AA website even says the weight is more accurate than the gauge. Some county extension offices can test PCs for free or a small fee.
My AA's gauge was perfectly accurate at first, but over the course of a couple years it has drifted lower than the actual pressure.
You can get it calibrated by a machine shop or something but it's not really worth it.
