Illinois Mushroom ID, please?

Habitat: I found it in Southern Illinois in early November (the time of year it is now), and it's been warmer than normal for this time of year (upper 70s high, except for past couple of days when it's been down in the 50s). I found it growing on my trailer's back porch, directly out of the wood used to build it. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is, but it's very un-kept so I'm not surprised that it had fungus growing on it.
Gills: Look at pics and tell me lol
Stem: The stem is thick and medium length. Sorry it's not specific but I'm not able to get it back out to take measurements right now
Cap: Concave, scaly, and orange.
Spore print color: I would assume orange? It was already completely dried out and somewhat aged when I found it (fortunately not mushy), and I'm not sure if I could get a spore print out of it, but if someone here thinks that I can and should then I would be glad to update this page with one. I know that the wood all around the mushroom was stained orange (it's naturally not orange).
Bruising: None that I could detect, but like I mentioned it was almost entirely dried out when I found it so it may be too late for bruising (I'm guessing).
Other information: I'm hopeful that it's a Gymnopilus Luteus, as that's the only big orange mushroom in Southern Illinois that I know of that's also psychoactive. It didn't have a veil (which as I recall is a Luteus trait), however I'm hoping that perhaps the veil shriveled up and fell off as the mushroom dried? Is that plausible? Remember that it was basically totally dry when I found it, so I'm not sure how old it is. I'll provide pictures below, if any more information is required, please let me know! Also, I presume that it was probably a bit bigger before it dried out.
A banana is provided for scale.

It's hard to tell with a specimen that dry, but I'd tentatively say it could be a gymnopilus (not luteus), especially given that mushrooms of that genus are known to grow on processed wood.

I would also like to say that, whatever it's identity, never eat anything growing on wood that could be treated with chemicals.
