Gtg?
    #23802937 - 11/05/16 10:28 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I have a few jars I wanted to Gtg and was wondering should I wait until the myc thickens or is it OK that it completely coverd and just thin?

i think it looks good to go...some strains seem to occasionally produce really light mycellium, which doesn't thicken much with increased incubation time

Not saying this is the case, but I've also seen thin mycilium like that when the grains were underhydrated.

looks a bit too bacterial for my liking, I wouldn't g2g that. but its colonized enough for g2g, to answer your question. you dont even need 100% colonization for g2g, its just a waste to g2g uncolonized grains into more uncolonized grains.

Give it a day or two, but be sure to thoroughly examine any jar used for expanding, be very critical.

eh what? I'm not peeing on your parade I'm warning you that your grain jar doesnt look healthy enough that I would g2g it.
It's got nothing to do with you, we all get bacterial jars once in a while.

see the white thicker kinda lumpy growth on the edge of most of the grains? its a sign of bacteria.
jars for g2g should be as healthy as possible so you dont spread bacteria.

Well technically you want to make sure your master gets %100 colonized before expanding it just to make sure nothings stopping it from reaching full colonization

Doesnt matter in my opinion. Thin mycelium is all good to transfer.

Its just spawn
