Liberty Cap I.D Help Please
    #23801857 - 11/04/16 09:11 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

This was my first time foraging so I basically picked everything I found.

Conditions:
Picked approx. 12 hours ago and have been stored in a sandwich bag since.
Inconsistent rain daily for the last week. Heavy rain all morning today, not much sunlight.

Habitat:
In the North of Ireland, on a gently sloped hill at a high altitude in a vacant sheep field.

Group 1: Dark brown, mushy, were previously firmer and lighter in colour, black spore print, no gelatinous pellicle. No idea what they are.

Group 2:  White/light brown, haven't checked spore print, all three have a stretchy, gelatinous pellicle. Hoping they are Liberty Caps.

Any help identifying these mushrooms would be greatly appreciated.

Pics are really crappy but the first could be Panaeolus acuminatus and the second might be Psilocybe semilanceata, but the cap shape has me wondering.

Psathyrella or Parasola is my suggestion. But better pictures would surely help.

Looks more like Psilocybe semilanceata to me due to the separable gelatinous pellicle and the durable caps/stems.

Thanks for the reply. Apologies for the shitty pictures.
Looking at images of the two you mentioned they aren't very similar, as far as I can tell.
I did a spore print and it was purple. Does this confirm they are Libs?
