Help with chillies
    #23798488 - 11/03/16 05:45 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Need help with curling leaves on my chilli plants, a few of my plants are showing iron deficiency and I'm currently treating that with  iron sulphate and iron chelate but I've notice the leaves are curling, just wondering if this is because of the iron problem or if it's something else, they've had a bit more water than normal watering in the iron and other than the odd caterpillar I haven't really found any other bugs or insects, although there are a few of these tiny white things running around the soil

Looks like blight.

Prevention. It's in the soil. A better/higher quality soil and crop rotation, among others.

You may want to start over with new plants and soil. If it is blight, you won't get rid of it on these plants.

:whathesaid:

All my sweet pepper plants got blight this season, and all systematically died off one by one.

This being said,I can not plant any Peppers,in that soil next season,or seasons to come,so I'll most likely just grow my  peppers in five gallon buckets next season.

You can find blight resistant varieties. Tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, all get blight bad.

If you buy a soil, there's no telling what it's made with. If it is made from composted plants that were infected, and the compost wasn't properly composted to kill off pathogens, it's gonna be there for years.

All my hot Pepper plants grew huge and strong, the blight didn't phase them, but all my Bell Pepper varieties died off one by one, every single one,and I had maybe 20 or more different plants.

My Hot Pepper plants are still going strong, and it dipped into the 30's last night!

I at least know they are blight resistant.
