So this could be done with a SAB and you could dump st8 into a mono tub right if you dont have a GH?

the fruiting chamber doesnt matter, the "keeping your shit sterile until colonized" part is what matters!
keeping air still in a still air box is pretty much impossible while spawning to bulk.

So what would you advise? Maybe use a LI and only open the bag a little? Or are the grains essential for results.

Just whipped up 13 bags. Each has 3 quarts of hpoo/verm Some have 2 quarts of spawn, and some have 1 quart. Not putting in trays this time. Will just fruit out of bag, as it's much easier to get the sub surface flat and will take up less space in the cropping room. Will post results in 2 weeks.

You're standing the bags up though, not laying flat, right?
Should work well:

Definitely way easier to get the sub level. After the 1st flush the sub will shrink away from the bag a bit. If you go for a 2nd flush you will probably get some side pins. After 1 flush you can take the block out of the bag and dunk it and fruit it like a shiitake block tho.

That looks great Juiceh! I imagine for someone rocking a GH, bags like that eliminate a lot of clean up and spawning efforts.

That's what I just thought. Knocking up bags like these in two weeks. My GH is full ATM.

Yeah. A few days after full colonization I trim the bag just below the filter patch and apply 1/4"-1/2" casing and immediately put into fruiting. Pretty much the same way I do most edibles that like a casing.

Yup, no tubs to wash out. Just move on to the next bag. There's a bit of plastic waste and the cost of bags though. You only get one use out of them since they get cut. At ~$.60 a bag I don't really mind it too much though. They give me the ability to cram more sub into the same space and as a result out produce the other options. So, it works out. When I use bags for grain I typically keep the bags because when I open them I just make one clean cut completely across the top right under the seal using the cutter built into my impulse sealer. Those bags get reused for sometimes another sterilized grain run but usually for casing pasteurization. I'll keep pasteurizing in them until they get pinholes and start fucking up the moisture content during pasteurizing.

You're paying too much for your bags. Order 1,000 at a time and you'll get em for $.38 each with shipping.

That is some sweet cultivation work right there Juiceh - nice work.

by the way... can you give some bag details? What size and what filter pore size? (please)

Yeah I know. TBH I haven't paid for most of the bags I've used. I've been gifted quite a lot of bags over the years that I usually work off of. But I think I only got a couple dozen left. Next order will be at least 1000 from unicorn.
