Child protection services were alerted after seeing needle marks
It was the needle marks on one of the little girls bodies that led social services staff to realise something was badly wrong at the home of Ashlee Hutt.
The 24-year-old mother has been charged with criminal mistreatment and child assault after a court heard how she injected heroin into her three children - a six-year-old boy, a four-year-old girl and a two-year-old girl - calling it “sleep juice” and “feel good medicine”.
Child protection services in Washington state said they had seen heroin injection marks and bruising on the younger girl’s body. A month later, the son was interviewed and described being injected with “feel-good medicine,” a mixture of white powder and water injected with a needle.
The substance was also used on his sisters and the children usually fell asleep afterwards, The News Tribune reported. The family home was littered with rat droppings.
Ms Hutt’s boyfriend, Mac McIver, 25, faces the same charges and was arrested on September 7. He is in the Pierce County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Detective Ed Troyer said all three children are were in foster care.

Beat me up over it, but I dont think its too bad to do that once in a while (when teething) when using pharmaceutical grade orally and not telling them what it is + not being an addict yourself.
People using for temporary pain usually dont get addicted, I've seen the difference myself

Teething pain is a completely normal part of healthy development. There is 0 reason to give your kids opiates unless they have terminal cancer or something...

Having mental breakdown due to kiddo induced overload is not a healthy alternative anyway. Theres zero reason to treat a common cold, too, as it's completely normal as well. But some people choose better life through chemistry. Education required, though.

Bad idea giving your kid heroin....don't see how that can be a good one in any situation.

What a joke. Give your kids some of the most addictive substances out there to alleviate their crying... that's fucking nonsense. It actually is a healthy alternative compared to what you're suggesting. You can't constantly alleviate any minor pain in life with drugs. The kid needs to learn that even at an early age, and the parent needs to learn to deal with the child's development and growing pains as a part of raising a kid.
Popping opiates at that young probably has some sort of effect on brain development, compulsive behavior development at the very least. They might not be old enough to realize what they are taking, but their minds are taking note for future reference.
Better life through chemistry, sure. Know that certain chemicals have a time and a place though. The kid will get the fuck over the tooth pain, and they'll do so more consistently if you're not constantly drowning out their pain with drugs every time they cry and get their way.

Your "healthy alternative" is how children are shaken to death by overloaded single parents.
I'd rather suggest another ultima ratio, at least it's not necessarily a crime to me
And no, using that once a month doesn't cause any detectable developmental change.

we must have a doctor or like a neurologist or something here.
Such a wealth of knowledge.
Heroin jukies probably shouldn't have kids in the first place

It's not my place to tell anyone how to raise their children, Short of them doing actual harm.
Parents that give their children alcohol for the same reasons get a free pass tho . . . hipprocrates

There are still polysyllabic, over-the-counter, cold medicines, used to help kids relax. Which is not to mention prescriptions.
But, injecting them was a bit much, ffs.
I can see why you might keep innocent kids out of eyeshot of the kidnappy powers, which shouldn't be.
Maybe, they would be kept out of a school, which looks exactly like the jail.
Or, they don't go to the doctor, for anything short of a medical emergency.
I don't understand how you parade them, with trackmarks and collapsed veins, in front of these rapey, physically-dangerous busybodies. This is something altogether special.
