WTF are you thinking?

I am constantly wondering to myself how the other half lives. Do other people think like I do? Sick of the repetitive routine like I am? I want to open up an open ended discussion about basically whatever you are thinking, what are your common daily routines, emotions, strengths, weaknesses, what ever. I feel like this may bring some normalcy in my life.

For me, I constantly think of things like: You start school around 4 years old until about 18 years old. From there, you can choose to either move on to get a job at a shitty wage, or, you can go to college, placing yourself in debt immediately. Once you graduate college, you may get a better job, but are still in debt that takes up the majority of your earnings. Then, whether you went straight to work, or went to college first, you're going to work until the age of retirement (66 years old average, or 62 years old if you retire early). Now, assuming that you worked a decent job with a good retirement plan, or you invested...You only basically have enough money to live paycheck to paycheck. If you didn't plan, you will probably work another job on top of getting your social security benefits because it just isn't enough. On top of that, supposedly social security won't even be around we I get older. So lets average roughly 68-70 years old until we actually start working. Then, we compare that to the average life expectancy which is 79.1 for americans (Don't ask me how its different from other developed countries).
Recap: Start school from 4-18. Work from 18-68. Expected life is 79. You finally had 10-11 years to relax. Congratulations to us. We worked until we died, and was most likely in debt the entire time.
That's the shit I think about.

It doesn't HAVE to be like that, but usually the alternatives take a lot of WORK and sacrifice. For many its easier to blame the system and give up.

Listen, marry a girl with a decent credit score, don't have children, and try to learn a marketable skill in an occupation that you can at least tolerate. If you are lucky, you'll enjoy your job most of the time. Your spare time can be spent smoking, tripping, traveling, listening to music, hiking, cooking good food, etc. This is my life. It's good.
It's more than possible to have a decent existence. You have unprecedented access to education, a dizzying amount of freedom to choose who you want to be, where you want to live, what you want to believe, who you want to associate with, and how to spend your time. I know it can seem like the future is hopeless and your options are limited, but in all of human history, YOU are in a time and place that affords you with a million fucking choices. Those poor fucks before us had so many fewer opportunities in life. Bitch, recognize that.
The harder you work, the more you learn social politics, the more your luck will improve.

I am married, and have a good job. But it's like we are meant to do the same shit every day by design. This is just one thought of mine. Sometimes I feel bored with life. But I've got priorities, so I cant just take that leap of faith and be the free spirit that I want to be. Does anybody else feel this way sometimes? Not to mention, my job does piss tests so its not like I can burn down like I want to.
What's the type of shit that you guys think about?

Life has been in a depressive free fall for too long, and I got sick of it. So I'm dropping responsibilities, watching relationships self-destruct as a consequence, and am hoping and praying to be spat out the other side with a sense of optimism and self-appreciation for making the bold moves that everyone always dreams of, but stay forever paralyzed by that fear of the "what ifs".
Aside from the light at the end of the tunnel, my thoughts largely chase themselves around in circles. Once I looked to tripping as a way of solving these endless puzzles, but recently all its done has given me more questions than answers, and planted malicious seeds of thoughts in my head that I can never quite tell are true or false, and so I feel betrayed by something I trusted so sincerely, and most of all by my own head.
And thus we come full circle.
