uneven pinset in mono... reason?

I have a nice pinset, but I notice that it seems to avoid the edges. I've heard that the surface elevation has an effect, as does the internal heat of the substrate. Is there something I can improve?

Perhaps its the little bit of shade caused by my plastic. I have LED strips shining in downward from the sides.

How was this made Ms? Clone? Isolate? Need more information generally its from genetics if I remember correctly.

Its Golden Teacher. About seven petri transfers from a spore, but it still doesn't look like a mono culture.
OK, so genetics can make the mycelia avoid the edges. Fair enough.

Probably not a monoculture especially if its from ms.
Genetics have alot to do with it not so much the mycelium avoids the sides its just not the type of genetics for an even flush.
there's only certain parts of the Mycelium that will actually produce fruits. With a good genetic strain it should be almost every cm of the mycelium will fruit. Instead of like your inches.
Besides that looks good
Edit: if im wrong on this someone please correct me.

I've started to make transfers from the tissue of some nice looking pins. Is there more likelihood of arriving at a mono culture with those?

Should help isolate it down a bit. Here is a pin culture and the plate it was taken from. Looks a lot more refined.

Its possible bust highly unlikely and the chances of that monoculture being a badass is even less likely.
You Want multiple monocultures and you want to test each out(fruit it out) until you find one that you like (yield potency etc.). Then make a culture slant for long term storage.
If I were you I would fruit the clones you take. In the meanwhile continue to isolate from your Ms and clone cuz fuck it why not.
When you clone you know that you gotten fruits already so its a good way to reach an isolate with better quailites. But the best quality genetics could still be on/in your print/Syringe.
Don't stop transferring
