How has tripping changed your life (in all respects)?
    #2379322 - 02/26/04 01:29 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I read a lot of posts about how people say that is changes their life, but that's where it stops. I wanted to hear some specifics such as how it makes you view everything differently or why you feel like you know more.

What i can say is tripping has made the term 'life' so funny. We are here to play the game anyway we wish i.e. set goal for ourselves and see what we can accomplish. But on a downside it makes everything seem so simple and i am able to understand the 'why' aspect to many things. I have had some extreme lows and extreme highs while tripping. But i try to learn from it all. It has put everything in to a much different and better perspective.

I want to hear some of your ideas.

I'd recommend checking out this post: http://shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php...;o=&fpart=1

it's not too old, and on the same topic.

Tripping has utterly changed my life in almost every aspect.  I am so so eternally thankful that I've had the opportunity to use psychedelics.  I wrote a longer post in the thread that Krishna cited, so please feel free to check it out.

After my first trip (last Sunday) I have marvelled at my patience with the world, it's like I don't waste energy getting pissed of at things that don't really matter anyway, ie tv shows, arguing over small things, etc. Aslo, things like culture are much more clear to me now, what society is (and what it isn't). Stuff like that.

it has allowed me to look at life at the other side of the spectrem, as it was said before have learned about desires, motives, innerself, and try to become a better person through the experinces that ive received, all i can say is that im not "there" yet but well on my way.

It's really just made me view nature as something a lot more beautiful than i thought. I always walk around campus and stare at the complex of branches on a dead tree, or stop while walking and stare up at the clouds as they morph and change shape (this is while sober, mind you). I really want to become a traveller now, go to far off distant lands and all that hubbub. Specific enough? :mushroom2:

It has made me indifferent to what others think is good for me, bad for me, right for me wrong for me. It makes me TOTALLY fixated on what others can do to me becasue of what they think is good for me, bad for me, right for me wrong for me.

It is heaven and hell. It is knowledge and consequence.

It gave me ATTENTION FIXATION DISORDER. The opposite of what every little hyperactive kid gets diagnosed with. If I were still in school I would make my teachers nervous with the big blank stare that would be fixated on them for the ENTIRE PERIOD.

Well tripping has changed my life significantly in most respects. (beware, im thinking this'll be of length.)

Lets start at 15 or 16 - I began experimenting with mushrooms - i laughed, i cried - i found a knack for tripping alone. Being the emotionally ignorant, rebelious, confused, cocky dick i was, after a few solo experiences i ventured for 7 grams cubensis alone in my room.

Quickly i was reduced to a quivering kid - crying hard, SOOO confused - there wernt much visuals to remember, yet an extreme headtrip where i had seen society and reality deconstructed, explained and defined completely.

Realizing where and what i was, (HERES THE POINT) I said to myself i had to change.

Also a problem - I didnt know what i could be, all i knew was that i could'nt be what i was. Always extreme/alternative - kinda *that* standout kid from grade 10 - i started shifting my music from soulless new metal, to punk rock and my image started reflecting. For me it was a way of distancing myself from what i hated - about 4 months passed and horrible shit happened with friends and girls and i was an emotional disaster, couldnt handle school, public, people, daylight, life. Up for 4 or 5 days at a time - thinking. Chronic marijuana smoking, and punk ... i soon dropped/kicked out of highschool.

Anyways - I guess that would be a pretty big fucking change that mushrooms brought out, some level of depersonalization, and extreme confusion as to my position in the world. Too proud to die, but too sad to live.

So now to the good ones...

Consequential mushroom trips helped, as did a few sporadic doses of lsd, and finally 2 years later, on canada day with 2 friends i had an awesomely strong low dose trip, and at the moment decided to be happy. I went home, cut my hair off best i could with scissors (looked like a psycho) and saw it as a fresh start.

After that, MDMA helped me move from dream to reality. (hippieflip actually) All in the rush of the trip, i realized my potential - *I have tons of college money, im really fucking smart, I KNOW what i want to do in life and i have all the support i need* - and bam, that was a solidifying mark in my happiness. It also allowed me to break away from my social anxiety and talk with ease.

Subsequent overdosing on mdma/e/ghb/coke/cid lead to a complete abolishment of ANY social anxieties or awkwardies and allowed smoother speech.

So yeah, now im this kid thats old enough to be on this site,

-i meditate
-i am kind and generous.
-i am oldfashioned and proper.
-cosmic - at one with the universe and all that ...
-i like to help people.
-i lead anything but a normal existance.

Anyways ... I guess thats a pretty decent summery, there's So much more, but those are the key tripping changes.

Simply put;
it has stopped me from doubting/worrying/stressing.

Just to enjoy life, and being happy.
