Mushroom poisoning

A friend picked and dried out what he thought were libs. He ate a massive handful and I spat mine out as something didn't taste right with them (they were sticky). After Looking at pictures of them before he dried them out, I'm thinking they might be conocybe tenera and there might be more than one species of shroom amongst this bunch! Got a message off him earlier saying he has a headache. Thinking it might be poisoning but don't want to cause him alarm until I'm sure. Don't know how much exposure to toxins I'd get from chewing then spitting them out but I'm on a comedown and hungover so probably wouldn't recognize any symptoms (Bit of a red face and generally feel crap but that'll be the excessive alcohol and amphetamine consumption).... Definitely sticking to picking my own shrooms in future though :P

And I'm a bigger idiot for trusting him... I should know better. Seriously concerned about the fat, white-gilled shroom to the left in this pic. Could be anything!

You'll be ok -- I'm pretty sure you can safely chew and spit out death caps (although don't quote me on that).
As for your mate though, well. Time will tell, I suppose.

These (as far as I can tell) are all Psathyrella or Parasola. I think you'll probably be okay.

Yes, looks like mostly Psathyrella. He may experience some indigestion, but should be fine. This might be a good time to read up on the symptoms of amatoxin poisoning for future reference.

Looks like Panaeolus foenisecii.
Headache is not a typical mushroom poisoning syndrome.

No way, there might be some mixed in there, but most of them aren't. Look at those white stems that are splitting like classic Psathyrella.

Have done a bit of research on amatoxins in the past... A terrifyingly efficient toxin!
Yeah, hopefully he'll be fine. Will check on him tomorrow. Still don't know if there's any other species hidden amongst those heaps but will get more info off him about where he picked them and if there's any trees nearby. I know he got them in a field and said they were all clumped together...

Well there are no amatoxin containing Amanita in there, you have not described any mushroom poisoning symptoms and in the event there was a toxic lbm in there chances are that one specimen would not do much of anything. Additionally most if not all of the species in there look dark spored which would argue against most potentially toxic species.
