New on growing, advices, please?

Hi Guys.
Recently i`ve tried shrooms for first time in my life, i was really skeptical about taking them, but I was really fascinated about the trip. And started to wonder about growing some. Because in my country it`s really difficult to get/buy some shrooms.
So, I`m new on this, and need advices about growing, because basically, i don`t understand anything about that.
I`ve been reading a lot of information on web, and thinking about this kit:
http://www.magic-mushrooms-shop.com/en/magic-mushrooms-1200cc-starter-kit.html
I`ve got questions :
1. Which breed you prefer to grow for first time.
2. Also about dosages.
3. If i can dry them in fruit dryer or smth. And how properly dry them.
4. How can i properly store them.
5. What`s the optimal conditions to grow them.
6. What about light? I`ve planned to grow them in dark, but reference to what i`ve read is that they need light, like 12/12h. It is correct? And if i`ve planned to use artificial light, what kind of, etc.
7. What`s about shipping, it is safe? Because I live in Latvia, and don`t understand perfectly about laws of shipping.
I`m Hoping that someone will respond me and clear those questions.
Respectfully,
Gizeh!
I hope, you will help me understand those things.

Don't buy a kit they're terrible.
1. Any regular cubensis variety, they're all basically identical. 2. 'To taste' 3. Food dehydrator cranked up all the way until they crumble when pressure is applied. ('cracker dry') 4. Cool and dark place, keep them dry and keep the container you use closed. I vacuum seal them. 5. 65-75F, mist as needed. Use a proper fruiting chamber. 7. Google says spores are legal in Latvia, vendors wont ship to you if it's illegal anyway.
The search function knows all. Stuff to read for good up to date info.

First forget kits. They suck. Grow cubes, they are forgiving. Shrooms are food, eat until you are full. Dry in a food dehydrator for best results. Put them in a jar or bag, I like vacuum sealers. Grow em at room temp in your house. Light is good. Spores are legal in most countries.
Finally use th search engine. It will teach you much. Good luck.

Well i do not think that those kits suck.
In some ways yeah, but if you wanna grow some shrooms to trip on and you feel like being in a hurry to do so, go ahead.
I have grown a lot of the 2100ml grow kits from MMS and i never got less than 60g dried from a kit, flushing at least three times. Some even 5.
Try it out. But you can make your own grains a lot cheaper, you will get bigger flushes and you will gain both experience and a new hobby.

you gain the wrong experience tho because the kits dont teach you how to grow. just that they CAN grow in shit conditions. thats terrible experience.
doing pf tek gains you the XP to level up.
you learn water content/texture of substrate. how to inoculate what they myc looks like. what they need during colonizing. how to fruit.
a kit teaches you...... how to dump water into tupperware. how to suffocate mushrooms in a choke bag. some kits say to take a fork to the substrate. how much money you wasted(only good xp from a kit)

I guess you missed the point mushboy. I said that you gain the experience from growing yourself but fair enough.
I do agree with you....
The kits still aren't low on yields though.

Kits contam a lot. Contamed substrates are low on yields. Kits contain poorly written instructions for fruiting. Substrates in poor fruiting conditions yield poorly. Do the math.

The ratio in which kits contams depends on the one handling them i guess. I have grown maybe 40 kits and i think that around 3 or 4 of them got contaminated after the first flush.
I have received a couple of contaminated kits but they just send a new one. I certainly do not feel like i've wasted money on them but i still haven't fruited my own grains yet so i'll probably get the feeling very soon......

4 out of 40 kits is a ten percent fail, that is a poor average. Done properly DIY should be 95% success or better. Also when you do things yourself you can find and eliminate your vectors. You can't do that with a kit. Also they are insanely expensive. Once you buy a PC and very basic equipment, growing is cheap.
This tub cost about 6 dollars in materials.

Along the lines of what Pastywhyte said, one of the first and most important things I think a new cultivator should get is a Pressure Cooker, you can do some grows without one, but I don't recommend it because you can get contamination easy if you don't have one.
If you can find a Pressure Cooker in your area I definitely recommend getting one. After getting a pressure cooker, you are able to start doing more advanced stuff like growing on grains (with agar, if you can get that too).

... and there it was, the feeling of wasting money...
I could have bought several AA PC's for the amount of money used on kits. But hey, it was a good time tripping.

I mean it's better and cheaper than buying from dealers so it can't be that bad. \(^o^)/ Coming from a country where the cheapest PC costs like 1/5 of my salary means that I'll have to stick with a usual pot for a while.

The place mentioned in ops post. 50 euros for the cheapest new. 40 for a second hand one from Germany. I had problems finding perlite here too, they sell it in powdered form only, had to order it from Germany. Ain't it funny. And don't even start about the jars.
