Anyone have luck with salvia leaf? Smoking or Quid?

So my birthdays coming up on election day and my friend and I wanted to try some salvia. I have 2 salvia plants and we've never tried it before.
I always hear mixed reports of people smoking plain leaf but i feel like the ones who say it doesnt work arent doing it right. We're going to take a nice hit from a bong with a torch and hold as long as possible.
Anyways does anyone has any experience with smoking plain leaf or maybe a quid? Thanks

Do several bowls in a row. otherwise, you'll feel a little buzz, but that's it.

I could be wrong, but from what I know the old salvia that everyone used to smoke, before made illegal, was dipped in something. It was not the salvia plant that got you "buzzed". I went through the horticulture program and we had to take a herbaceous plant ID class to get our degree. We covered a couple different salvia plants in that class. One kid asked about smoking it, dumbass in my opinion. The teacher said they wouldn't get you high. If you were able to get some back in the day it was all sold as like 15x 20x 30x 40x.... This makes me believe it was a synthetic chemical put onto salvia plant matter. Maybe someone else can chime in and agree or disprove me. I am fairly sure though that the salvia plant does not produce any mind altering chemicals. NOW there are multiple species of salvia soooo, it is possible that only ne will do it, and that some people have had the wrong salvia plant.

I hated it, but I hate extract too so don't take my word for it. Torched it in a bong, tasted shit and made my bong taste shit I had to clean it several times.
edit: dude there are a ton of plants of the salvia genus, only salvia divinorum produces salvorin alkaloids. Your teacher was probably talking about 'salvia' in a general sense.

I love salvia. Salvia Divinorum definitely produces psychoactive effects, extracts are just the extract put on plain leaf.
I generally only need 2 bowls of plain leaf to blast off. Start low, you can always have some more in a couple minutes if it's not enough for you.
I've attempted quid once before, but didn't have enough salvia leaf at the time. Many people say it's a smoother, less chaotic ride, so definitely worth a shot if you're up for it.

I assume you failed the class. Salvia is a genus of plants there's tons of them. Only Salvia Divinorum have any effects

Actually I passed the class. Yes salvia is the genus but there are many species in that genus. Thus many species of salvia.

Salvinorin A is the active chemical in Salvia divinorum. It is a naturally occurring chemical produced by the Salvia divinorum plant, also known as Diviner's Sage. Salvia divinorum is the only species within the genus Saliva that produces this chemical. Other species of sage do not.

There's also salvinorin B and a few others, + surely undiscovered actives still. We still don't even fully understand the pharmokenetic effects of the drugs either, nor do we know very much about potential side effects negative and positive.
One if the main reasons salvia hasn't been federally banned yet IMO.
Anyway, I smoke salvia leaf pretty regularly, if you do it corretly you'll achieve a suble S level maybe even A level trip. Some people may not experience very much and may need more, considering individual biochemistry/nuerochemistry.
I've introduced about 6 people to plain leaf salvia in real life and 5/6 reported S-A level effects while one person just reported mild dysphoria and dissociation.
I smoked a nice bowl full of salvia with lemon balm and peppermint for flavor yesterday, took two huge hits, held it as long as I could, and I had a very nice 15 minute experience.
For me it's very relaxing at this dose and can even have "anti depression" qualities, as well as a pretty interesting body buzz ( intensified gravity/pulling) and some shroom like visuals, no entities but lots of patterns and colors CEV.

Quid if fresh leaf and you have a good amount. If dry, smoke. Smoking it is like forgetting things (most things) and rembering them over again. Pretty dissociative. Haven't tried quid.

I only had it back in the day, like 10 years ago, when the head shops had 40x. That's what I smoked.

with plain leaf it can be hard for beginners, you have to smoke a few bowls to get strong effects and it will hurt your lungs unless you use a water pipe.

I would combine the smoking with something else to almost induce ego death, but that's just me.

10x salvia extract and 125ug 1p-LSD was fantastic.
Plan on doing ~20mg 2c-b and salvia in the coming days should be a lot of fun.

Yeah I find the 2c-b open eye visuals a lot like salvia open eye visuals when I compare them.
Inanimate objects just seem to come to life, objects in my posters dance and swirl and move around... Should be a great mix.

You probably won't want to waste your time with the quid. You have to make a tincture out of a lot of leaves if you want that to work.
