Strange cyans or another species?

Made a post in the pnw active thread that no one has responded to yet so I guess I'll make my own thread. Topcorn and I found some strange psilocybes the other day. Looks like they were either domed or flat during maturity and upturned after their prime. We got a few stem butts and prints. I only have pictures of a few dry specimens I kept. I will go back to photograph this week. They were surrounded by cyans so im wondering if an environmental issue cause this. They were coming up through some wiry plant/weed roots that had been thrown down on top of the wood chips. My theory was that somehow the edges of the caps were broken off when they came up through the plant material on the ground. Either that or its a different species I've never seen before. Someones opinion would he much appreciated.

They look like cyanescens with goofy genetics to me.

That's what I'm thinking too. Hopefully the patch is still there to take pictures of.

They look like normal Psilocybe cyanescens to me.

Weird. You should get some prints and specimens scoped, in my opinion.

It's what happens when cyans get stunted in growth, but end up making it to maturity.
-------------------- Species found in the Bay area: P. allenii, P. cyanescens, P. ovoideocystidiata, P. stuntzii, P. azurescens

Took prints and a few stem butts. These definitely did not get stunted in any way. It's been warm and wet in the PNW. The only thing I can think of is that they got super soggy when coming up and the edges of the cap were broken off. How this happened to more than one and so symmetrically is what is baffling.

Looks like normal cyans when they are a bit old and have been going for like 3 weeks.

Seems likely, I've see them grow like this before but only one or two at a time. I don't know what else they could be. I know of a member who spread serbica spawn in this general area but from what I've seen in photographs they are not.
