To pour, or not to pour? Let's bitch about agar!

About a month into agar exploration, I recently learned that parafilm isn't 'no-pour' compatible! In other words, I tried to PC some Pyrex PDA plates wrapped in parafilm... And the results were a complete disappointment. The condensation is beyond a reasonable level as well.. I went through with it and decided to try some isolation transfers anyways, But I'm thinking that pouring my plates would be the solution, but I really don't like the anxiety of adding more contam vectors...
Can anyone advise me on my no-pours? Does anyone mess with glass plates? I've got some pastywhyte "plates" but I like the ease of visibility with the glass plates.. I've stuck away from pour teks because I don't like the edginess I feel when working under pressure, especially when contamination is a factor..
So, let's bitch about agar! What's the preferred method for plating your agar?

Pouring in a SAB works great. There are a lot of users around here who pour in a SAB with good results. Work as fast as possible and as clean as possible and you will have success.
If you still want to pour before PC you could seal your plates with an autoclavable bag.

I pour my plates in a sab. I also use pre sterilized plastic petris. As apposed to glass just a preference.
I have had one petri contam just from pouring so far. I usually let my plates sit a few days to weed out any that may have contam.

I used to be nervous about pouring plates but I've never actually had a plate contam during the pour. If you're using petries you should pour them. I mostly use no pour because I find it more convenient but it's really just a matter of personal preference.

Don't be a bitch about agar. I pour all my plates and go through 60 or more a week and it's the easiest thing in the world. I've noticed it just gets easier and easier. I don't even sweat it anymore.
I used to suit up to the max to do agar and now sometimes I don't even wear gloves. I can clearly see my plates, they take up little space, I can stack them neatly or bag them up, and pouring and making transfers or doing anything at all is fast and easy. I can inoculate 10 or more plates in just a couple of minutes.
Condensation isn't an issue at all. I get it initially and it's gone in a day or two.
I sterilize my agar in this:

and measure the temp after two hours with an infrared thermometer and pour at 120 f.
This is all you need:

I highly recommend pouring your own agar, but if the pasty plates work and you're comfortable with them don't fix what aint broke.
I like pouring my own because it's fun and I do a lot of cultures at a time. I'm pretty sure I'm not willing to make 60 no-pours every week though. I can do 60 plates in one p.c. run and 5 minutes of prep time.
When I'm done inoculating, I wrap them up in this
by just stretching it around the plate. It's an oddly satisfying sensation lol

In that case, I think I'll give a pour tek a shot.. Im trying all kinds of uncomfortable shit lately either way. What about the condensation issue? Is it my glass Petris? Or the fact that I'm not pouring them? How long do I let them sit before using them, if I pour them?

I used petri dishes right after the cooled. Sometimes I use them if I need them (2-3 weeks after pouring). The positive effect to use them after more than one week is that you can see if they are contaminated or not.
After pouring you should stack them. This prevents some condensation. Some condensation gets absorbed by the agar after some time.

I posted about no pour glass petris just today, I will be testing them out soon. If there is lots of condensation I pour it off in a SAB
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23787813
1 glass petri making clear lids for 2 PP dishes, deep enough so they hopefully will not boil over.

If you pour right before the agar solidifies (115 f or so) you will get little condensation because the agar won't cool as fast as if you poured really hot agar. I've used my plates two weeks after pouring them and kept them for a month or longer before they dried up.

pour at that perfect widow around 117ºF pour and keep in stacks of 10 or so. You'll have 1 plate with condensation, and 1 plate with a bit of condensation. The other 8 will look awesome.

Use any extra plates as a "cover". Fill empty plates up with warm water and put on the top most poured plate to decrease condensation.

Years ago I thought I wanted glass petris. Seemed more sciencey than plastic. But washing and PCing petris sucks. Big time. Pre sterilized plastics are what the pro's use. They're inexpensive and simple to use.
And I think that the mini storage tubs use way too much agar.
Using agar is what separates the serious hobbyist from the multispore noobs and their $100 grow bag kits.
Seems like the time has come to step your game up...
